Ok.
I have 3 .ncf games and none of them show up in SBRev.
Quake 2
TrackMania United
Max Payne.

Thanx

I think this is not SBRev's fault. I tested SBRev (with SteamEmu 3.82 and also 3.83) and the same with UCL and none of them found my NCF games. All the GCF games were there, but the NCF games showed up nowhere.

If you still get the error after updating copy steamclient.dll, tier0_s.dll and vstdlib_s.dll to steamapps\%username%\%source game you want to launch%\
And then try it again.

Don't you have to copy tier0_s.dll and vstdlib_s.dll to \bin if it's a source game?
And actually tier0_s.dll and vstdlib_s.dll should be already there, doesn't matter if it's a HL1 / Source. AFAIK this error is because of steamclient.dll

No only when extracted, normally you have to put them in the same dir as steam.dll, which normally is \bin when extracted.
Since the source2007 is out it looks like older source games don't find the files in \bin so I put them in the same dir as hl2.exe so it will find them for sure, and it works :D
So the best if you get the error and updating the files doesn't help is to copy them to
1. launcher, for SBReV it's .\Resources\Fixes
2. steamapps\%username%\%source game you want to launch%
3. steamapps\%username%\%source game you want to launch%\ bin
At least that are my experiences.

Where in /bin or where? But why should they be there? SBRev doesn't copy them over there. Or does it?

AFAIK you are right :D I always just name them all.

In the GCFs are those files there. In any GCF. HL1 engine has them in root, any source game in \bin. Open the engine GCFs and you'll see they're there. (and should be also created when you install the game)

No they are not in base source engine 2.gcf.
But they are in source engine.gcf  Since when? Last time I opened that gcf they weren't in there? They always were just in the source dedicated server.gcf.
The files in there are different than the ones from Steam, probably special version for old source games?
The ones in source 2007 binaries are the same as you get through Steam, so they really need two different version of the files.

I'm really not up-to-date anymore.

they don't have to be in base source engine 2.gcf, games based on it also load source engine.gcf and therefore have those files too.

And btw HL1 engine's libs are also different from the ones in any source GCF.

Yes I know, but I remember times they were only in source dedicated server.gcf and not in (base) source engine (2).gcf. I was a bit surprised when I found them in there.

Yes I know, hl1 engine always had them.

I'd guess - just a suppose :P - that as the different engines need different dlls, and since orange box source engine also has this, VALVe just copied the engine specific versions in all the GCFs and didn't ignored the newest one anymore.

(maybe I'm wrong, but thats what I think :P :P )

Thx it works. But now i have a new problem. When I create a game in Team Fortress 2 I get an error message:

"cd key authentification failed from internet servers"

It works with my cracked steam. But not with Steambuster. My Firewall is deactivated.

Use VUP with client options, that will fix that protection.
