bibabong wrote: Thx it works. But now i have a new problem. When I create a game in Team Fortress 2 I get an error message:
"cd key authentification failed from internet servers"
i'm having the same issue. ChrisTX wrote: bibabong Use VUP with client options, that will fix that protection.
i did the following: downloaded this file:
http://rs301.rapidshare.com/files/87403 ... vityan.rar
copied the "vup.exe" into my "%Apps Directory%\Team Fortress 2\bin" and launched it on a cmd-line this way:
"vup -with-client-checks engine.dll"
then it does some stuff, including writing the following:
"9) Looking for internet server's CD Key requirement check ...
Not Found"
but trying to create a TF2-server still results in the same error.
i just want to create a LAN-server. did i do everything correctly?
i'm using the newest GCF-files (including yesterday's update).

1. wrong thread
2. I noticed that in src2007 bins v36->v37 engine.dll has been updated. Didn't checked it by now, but maybe they update the file in a way to knock out VUP. What you describes seems like you made everything correct, so that it should work (with the older version)

hi chris!
thanks for your answer! sorry about the wrong thread. i posted it here because the problem occured using steam-buster.
however, i guess you're right. i downloaded an older engine.dll (posted by you in this thread on 30th january ).
i then did the "vup -with-client-checks"-thing on it, and it worked. using this engine.dll, i can create a server now.
i just hope, that it doesn't create any problems using the old "engine.dll" with the newest gcf-files.

nobody can actually predict you that, but ViTYAN666 wrote that he'll release an update at the weekend I think (I'd guess he meant this weekend)

you have to write this
"vup.exe engine.dll -with-client-checks"

is there also a way to get rid of the
"steam beta must be running to make use of the find servers"-message that appears in the server browser in TF2 (using SBRev)?

atm no, especially not with SBReV.
If you run it in cracked steam that won't appear

Did you installed the game? (rightclick -> install) If this doesn't solves your problem, please post a screenshot.

first of all i must apologize, cause i didnt read every post of this topic.. so i might be the second or worse writing about this little problem. By the way great soft SASiO! .. Portal and HL2E2 have some kinda bug or something.. problem with voices.. Portal has no voice for the AI. And the beginning of Episode 2 misses the voice of Alyx. As i said, the beginning.. cause i dont play voiceless games. I dont know about other characters voices.. but commentary plays normally
