Thanks, like I say, I don't do much multiplayer, but i seem to recall that copying in the server files into UGL folder used to get the valve browser working in-game?

I could be wrong - I usually am! :wink:

Well, I know that usually i don't need to re-extract the folders, so i'm not sure.

UGL uses steam.dll API for all its functions, so when extracting and launching applications, it uses exactly the same method as the original steam GUI. It likes the content to either be extracted by Steam, or itself, and not touched in any way.

When I tried the latest update pack on my system, I tried it with my currently extracted folders first (which worked) then I also got it to re-extract (to check that also worked) so I don't know why it wouldn't work for you if the engine files were not touched?

UGL\Steam.dll will try and update any extracted files if the GCF contains newer versions, and this can cause problems if some of these files may be set as read only etc.

Sorry, not sure what else it could be?

Ah - blob support, thanks cIntX, I will try this out at the weekend, nice job! :wink:

Just to confirm with people reading this, HookEmu will not work with UGL 1.1.06 as it stands, but there is a newer version of UGL that it does work with (processes proper steam logins etc) that I will release if I get time to finish it this weekend.

I need to get another UCL Tutorial up first, but now HookEmu is pretty much compatible with SteamEmu code, and also includes some nice new developer functions, then I will probably show how to interface with both of these Emus in later UCL tutorials - if that's ok with cIntX?

There's no support for that at the moment in UGL

I will probably impliment something like this in UCL eventually, as it used to annoy me too (the restricted color range)

If yo're into coding .NET - look at the UGL sourcecode. You could change color values easily in the ini file and then use:

Color.FromArgb(R,G,B) to display In UGL - This is easier if you use decimal, not hex, but you could write a conversion function while you're at it! :wink:

1-UGL's window remembers it's last size and position
2-Properties window with AppId, Required GCF's, GCF sizes and GCF versions for games and tools
3-Properties window with folder size, path, custom icon and parameter(argument) for mods
4-Properties window with size and path for movies

Bugs?:
1-I can't start non extracted videos with BSPlayer and Steam Media Player. When I double click them first I see UGL "extracting" window and then the player starts. With BSPlayer nothing happens and with Steam Media Player I get an error:"Unable to open media: D:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\Media\redirect steam:\advertise\380 HL2-EP1_Teaser03.wmv"

Hope you can fix this and good job, UGL is great!

Thanks for that feedback, I doubt that I will impliment any of this into UGL myself, as I am no longer developing it, though it may get a "final sendoff" at some point, with some quick fixes included.

I will however consider all these suggestions for my next project (UCL) so thanks for taking the time to make these suggestions. :lol:
