I was proving the last version of UGL and the multilenguage support works partially, for example with half-life source it works perfectly but with the others hl2 games no longer works.

the program automatically adds this line but equal it does not work.

[HL2.EXE_HL1]
Name=Half-Life Source
AppID=280
GCF00=Half-Life Source_Spanish.gcf

I will test this later - I did most of the multilanguage testing with HL1 and CStrike Source in french and german. I will test with spanish HL1 source to see what's what :wink:

Nice release, auto detects mods and actually launches pretty much everything with no problems. Great release!

On the other hand, with Day of Defeat: Source I get this error: The instruction at "0x15b53e2c" referenced memory at "0x0d62a1a0". The memory could not be "read". Also, when launching mods I get "hl2.exe has encountered a problem and has to close". I've tried multiple HL2 mods and they don't work, not sure about HL1 mods though. Any ideas? Help is appreciated and great release! :D

Thanks xGIHavoc :lol:
Can you give me the names of some of the HL2 mods - I have only tested that GMod works ok up until now.

I'll check out DOD:S - I don't seem to be having any problems - Have you made sure there is no old steam.dll and config files in the extracted folder (day of defeat source) - also may be worth deleting the extracted folder and letting UGLy re-extract it. UGLy actually uses steam.dll to extract, so only extracts the same files as steam does and expects this to be the case. There was also a problem with an earlier build of UGLy and DOD:S - so try the extraction again :wink:

Hmm, ok, well I tried re-extracting it and got the same error, installed the latest build... also get the same error. Tried a few different GCF's of it and get a DOD/gameinfo.txt invalid format or some error like that. Maybe I have a bad GCF? Any idea on where I can get one that's updated?

As for the mods, Goldeneye: Source, Garry's Mod 9, Garry's Mod Eight v3b are doing that hl2.exe crash and the mod name of the crash is filesystem_steam.dll. Half Life 2, CSS and every other game I've tried works fine. Ideas?

Ok, got it - you need to copy steamclient.dll into your UGL folder. This should only be a problem when there is no steam install.

Ok, I opened up my legit Steam and launched GMod 9 with no problems, couldn't launch Goldeneye: Source, got the memory error. I read Steam's troubleshooting section about the error and my drivers are really out of date, strangely, the mod was working before with no problems. I'm gonna try updating my drivers and see if that works.

EDIT: Updated drivers, DoD: Source still not working, memory could not be read error. Still getting that hl2.exe crash with all HL2 mods. :(

Hmm, maybe a next release to include the icons to be customizable? That'd be pretty sweet, like a folder with icons in them and you can specify an icon path when adding new content. Also, I fixed my Half-Life 2 and DoD: Source by going into C:/Windows/system and renaming my bink and mss .dlls. Tried new Beta 1 release and still getting that error with GMod 9 which hl2.exe crashes and the modname is filesystem_steam.dll and offset is 0000e67f. Great releases, and don't stop making this launcher, its excellent! Continue the great work with new and more customizable features. Good luck and if you guys know how to fix this let me know :D

Hhhm, I have spanish working fine in HL1/HL2/HL:Source (and some others) Have you got the latest build (repack) and up to date GCFs? If you're still having problems then give me details of your exact setup:
    Is steam installed?
    If Steam is installed does game play right in the steam client?
    Path to GCFs?
    What GCFs have you got in the GCF path?
    Path to UGLy?
I will have a look when I get back. Try what SASIO mentioned for Sourceforts mod and let me know if it worked for you.

Funny you should mention the Icon thing :wink: and thanks for the info on the video dlls.
Garrys mod 9.04b works fine for me, I can replicate your problem by having no steamclient.dll in the search paths, but that should be fixed in beta 1. Same as above, give me some details for when I get back...

hey, nice release! :wink:
I'd like to look at the function where you re-sort the server list, but I dont realy know VB and where to search for it (I program in C++). Could you tell me where exactly that is? I mean in what function?
And about releasing source code: it can help to make your app better, but I don't really want hundreds of the same apps (with different GUI and name) released, if you know what I mean... :?
