the 5 day free-play time is aug2 to aug7, get your gcfs then and you can play on legit servers for the time being :P

I've found a small bug in respect to games that use a batch file for launching. e.g. Iron Warriors.
Your Emu assumes that all games will be launched from a binary (exe) which is not always the case.
Documentation (pdf) launched from the client suffers the same glitch.

Thanks for report, Marzz. Indeed, emu assumes that executable can be .exe only. I'll look into this issue.

Hi I would appreciate some help for a little problem.
Well im not able to run hl2 in spanish language, i have all needed gcf´s. The game starts and the menus are in spanish but voices are not. I ve tried with an old ClientRegistry (Which was ok for spanish playing with steam client) but nothing.

Long time ago i edited an old steamemu:
[Emulator]
SteamOnline=0
PreferLocal=0
steamuser=X
steampassword=X
[HL2.EXE_HL2]
Name=Half-Life 2
Directory=hl2\root
GCF00=half-life 2_spanish.gcf
GCF01=source engine.gcf
GCF02=source models.gcf
GCF03=source materials.gcf
GCF04=source sounds.gcf
GCF05=half-life 2 content.gcf

It was OK for languages but today I dont know how to edit NEW STEAMEMU

Please help & Thanks all

If you have Steam installed check that you have clientregistry.blob in steam folder.
Here is the config for HL2 Spanish :
[HL2.EXE_HL2]
AppId=220
GCF00=half-life 2_spanish.gcf

Other gcf files are directly parsed in clientregistry.blob by the emu.

Has anyone actuly got gmod9 to work extracted?
if so can you post your ini and the param that you use.

I know theres nothing wrong with my files because it works if i use the old steamserver.exe and steamengine.exe with an old revolution steam.dll.

Great emu, everything works perfectly! However, I can't get dedicated server to work. It works on unpacked version, but refuses to use GCF's. I think I'm using the wrong steamemu.ini syntax. Here's what I tried:

[SRCDS.EXE]
AppId=205
Name=Source Dedicated Server
Directory=source dedicated server
GCF01=source dedicated server.gcf
GCF02=source materials.gcf
GCF03=source models.gcf
GCF04=source sounds.gcf

I also tried using [SRCDS.EXE_HL2] instead of [SRCDS.EXE] - same thing. :(

Copy steam.dll and steamemu.ini to \source dedicated server\ directory and run srcds.exe with parameter -steam

Wow, that was quick! Looks like I was using a wrong command line - "srcds.exe -game hl2mp" (it worked on unpacked version tho).

However, now I recieve this message: EnumerateApp( 320 ) failed: App provided bad argument to Steam API

Where exactly should I create "source dedicated server" directory? I tried different places, however it doesnt seem like this directory changes anything.

BTW, when I run srcds.exe -steam, "Map" option is greyed out.

<steam dir>\SteamApps\<Your account name>\Source Dedicated Server\

Try to copy steam_api.dll there too.

My steamemu.ini:
[Emulator]
BaseDir=D:\Cuesteam\valve\SteamApps
PreferLocal=0
OverwriteLocalCopy=0

[srcds.exe]

EDIT:

It is normal, because there is no extracted map. But if you start the server, you can change it.
