What's hard about making a CSS portable version?
I created a standalone one with steamemu, and it's damn portable...
If you want it to be an single executable, think about first unpacking it to temp folder and then lunch it ;-)

Well I got bored and uploaded my Half-Life: Deathmatch

Unlike yours, its only WinRAR, it doesn't auto launch, and it creates a shortcut on the desktop. Because my teacher didn't care if we played :) Also gives option to install in Program Files\Half-Life\ because thats how it set it up so a CS or DMC or any other Half Life mod install won't need HL files.
Newest AmxModX, Metamod, and Half-Life. Uses SteamEmu

250MB is pretty damn hard lol you'd have to rip out support for all the maps except for the stock ones like I did with CS:DL that would get rid of most of the textures, sounds and models that aren't used (which are the bulk of the size of the whole thing). Although its good to know that Source Engine.gcf compresses down to like 7MB from 90 haha

There is a reason why I didn't make a portable version of Half-Life: DeathMatch. Since there is the Source version, which is better.

That guy is stoned, doesn't know what he is talking about :P . I was able to make my CSS at 200mb, though I fucked up the textures a bit, next time I'm gonna use DZ's CSS release which is 700mb and try to knock that down nicely without any missing textures for the maps that I'm going to leave. Hopefully it'll turn out good.

I just found out its possible lower the halflife.wad file size, gonna mess around with that now :)

Stupid 36 MB of textures...

Hmmm cant find a way to dump a list of textures for each map. I can see the names at end of the map file in a hex editor, but thats too much of a hassle, any suggestions?
