Hm, I thought I'd fixed that one.
Anyway, as this happens last, then all your content should be prepared ok. You can untick the "Detact Half-Life mods" and that error won't happen again.
I'D assumed that it's people who don't have half-life installed who get that error, but I did put checks in there to counter that, so I must have missed something else somewhere.
Can you tell me, do you have a Half-Life folder at the path (d:\program files\steam\steamapps\content\half-life)? If you do, is it an empty folder or complete with sub-folders? I don't like niggling bugs like this, as all these scenarios are caught correctly on my machines.
For those not aware, here's what shmelle wrote about revEmu and x86 platforms running SourceSDK:
* You can't launch Hammer or any other tool from Source SDK Launcher. Please launch your tools directly! To do that efficiently...
- You'll need to copy config\ folder and ClientRegistry.blob file to both bin\ep1 and bin\orangebox
- You'll need to copy bin\SteamApp.cfg to both bin\ep1\bin and bin\orangebox\bin
- You'll need to launch tools from bin\ep1 and bin\orangebox as a starting directory, respectively for two engine types.
- this applies to x86 (32-bit) Operating Systems only! Problems should not appear on 64-bit systems! However, either way, you will need to copy BLOB files.
I haven't tested any of that, as I only have x64 machines, and they work fine.

Source SDK is also working fine for me on x64 system, but i'll test it on a x86 when I'm back at home again.
I forgot Source SDk Base 2007 in the config files, it needs the same config as TF2 and gmod if you want to run a mp mod based on the src2007 engine. But this should not be any problem till now, as I think that there's no mp mod out there using the new engine.

Can someone tell me how to change the default emulator as I want to extract the sdk stuff but using rev emu instead of the steam emu which it is currently using.
Thanks

What about reading the readme.txt?
readme wrote: GCFPrep's default emulator configuration is to support SteamEmu. You can configure other emulators for use with all content, or just selective content. The latest REVOLUTiON emulator is included in the GCF Package. See \Emulator\Emulator Files Readme.txt for more information on multi emulator support.

Wow, this is an awesome program!
Exactly what I was searching for.
I did a german translation. Some expressions may sound a bit strange, but I'm no professional translator, I think everything can be understood.
I had to change the header of the xml-file, because it was returning errors on startup.
Now it's: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?>
There maybe was a problem with the german umlauts, now it's working.

I cannot re-produce that problem.
Please give as much information as possible. What OS? What Emulator? Is Steam Installed? What settings are in your GCFPrep config file? Are GCFs @ 100%? What steps should I need to take to reproduce the problem on my machine?
Sometimes things like these can be related to odd paths being used, or anything like that, so the more information the better.
Also, always make sure you try with a fresh install rather than overwriting an old one when you have problems like this, as that will make a difference.
PM me if you don't want to post a load of info on the forum.
*EDIT* Ok thanks for the fix. As CacheEnabled is set to true as a default then some folks must be changing it / overwriting the default rev.ini
I can put a check in for that to make it more user friendly. Thanks taking the time to report back the problem and solution.
Configuring emulators is easy, the problem is mostly that people will not read the readme, and there are a few as GCFPrep is a configurable tool.
Choose the emulator you want to use most and change it's AppID to *
Then add individual AppIDs for the other emulator when you want to use it.
for example:
revEmu: Set AppID to * = Use for all Apps
steamEmu: Set AppID to 70;220 = Use for Half-Life and Half-Life 2 - this will overide the revEmu * setting
The reason that GCFPrep is designed to be as configurable as possible is that this ensures, in most cases, that users can fix a problem by changing various config files rather than having to request a new binary being released.
The disadvantage of this is that you have to understand how to set the tool up, but its really not that difficult.

if in the hcupa AppID you set: *;440 then does that work?
Any AppID specified after a * will tell GCFPrep that the emulator cannot be used for that appid.
It should work without the need to do this, but it's possible that something got broke along the way
