? You can, dedicated server.gcf isn't required, the core is in half-life engine.gcf.

Well, that's strange then. I tried it that way today and the standalone was launching perfectly.

Probably due to the GCF system, many things (e.g. addons for GMod) are based on GCF existance. AFAIK hlds is one of those cases, too.

i just realized that i havent made a standalone yet.:(

HL1:Source files i extracted to an empty folder(same otrder too):
half-life 2 content.gcf
source engine.gcf
source materials.gcf
source models.gcf
source sounds.gcf
------------------------
i put steam.dll to game/bin dir.
i put steamemu.ini to game dir
and i set the shortcut right
------------------------
works well on the pc with steam and all the gcfs, but not on any other pc..

a window with this appears(on a other PCs):
I was unable to locate ClientRegistry.blob in
-Current directory
-HKLM(HKCU)SoftwareValveSteamInstallPath
-Location of STEAMenu executable
Could just ignore it,but it ‘s better to stop at this point.

that i solved with putting the ClientRegistry.blob IN the game dir
------------------------
THEN
mountfileappsyste.... blabla.. shit and i though im that good:(

You must set Extracted=1 in steamemu.ini, else it will search for gcf files.

Please post what you wrote in steamemu.ini
As SteamEmu should not search for clientregistry.blob if you set extracted=1 in steamemu.ini :?

You mean it cannot be fixed? Do you have the same ?
I think I have found the problem: there is an empty tab instead Half-life. Is there any way to fix it?
