This is not working for me! I have patched my tf2 with KSO's ver. 32 patch. Copied gamestate in /tf folder. I enter the game, 0/94 achievements are completed. I am also getting Client timed out which i didn't get before! Is this the result of Free Weekend? Or am I doing something wrong? |

Not working TOO! Hello all. I'd like to report that it seems steam is ignoring our gamestate.txt as a result of some things: 1) This is a free weekend... not sure if they instructed all steam clients to make contact with steam and use STEAMS achievement stats this weekend for fair play (and advertising, or course). THey HAVE always been cache-ing our achievements on a per "time of achievement" basis. So, if you haven't achieved something IN-game, then your account won't actually have it stored at their end. 2) They released an update today... in their list of updates there seems to be no mention of patching the achievement system. Only Monday will tell, but i seriously hope that it's just the free weekend (Cross fingers). In the mean time, I'll be switching off seti and moving ALL over the world CHEATING LIKE A FUCKER!!! p.s. I too made a custom gamestate.txt and it WAS working yesterday but after today's update (i.e. client content v44 + content some other version) -> (free weekend related, dunno), it's NOT working. again crossing fingers. E.D.I.T. (MOTHER OF GOD) |

yes just realized that it wasn't working. Very unfortunate. Hope it works again soon because it has now left me with Considerably less achivments than the ones i legitamately earned. Regards, ~V3XED |

Um free weekend? Hello... No cracked users xD Sheesh think about it. This only works EVERY TIME for nonsteam users, and for cracked steam users (when there isn't a free weekend). |

I don't know 1- Open Steam and try. 2- Launch TF2 and try. 3- Join a game and try. 4- Try, try, try. It will work eventually. |

From what I see it injects a patched steam_api.dll and I'd say that this steam_api.dll has a patched function to get the achievements of the VALVe servers. That would make sense since it only works for legit clients. |

Does this work for all the new updates for the classes that valve will release? |

Achievements are stored on Valve's servers, but data required for unlocking is sent from clients. That makes unlocking possible. Edit: Also banning can only be made by checking unlocking times. For example they can ban a user when 94 achievements are unlocked in one second or maybe a minute. Don't worry, because they don't do it. (At least for now.) |

Okay, then it's memory patched; where's the difference? |

I am saying that maybe it's not patched at all. It's the DLL that games use to get achievements and stats through Steam. If there is no check in those functions that verifies caller is a game or not, then that API can be used without patching at all. |
