executable is good with documentation accompanying it and all needed parameters, then maybe someone can create a gui to control the executable (for noobs.)

ooops i forgot to thanks for the nice class, which hopefully will help translate this game, but anyway it'll be even easier if someone found the EddieK GCF Extractor source and just mod it to fit her/his needs

Here's my NAR extractor, I've tested it with all the archives that I have and it appears to work perfectly (for me at least).

It's very simple to use. It's a command-line program, so you have to set the first argument to the NAR file you want to extract and the second argument is the folder you want to extract the NAR to. It will extract every file in the archive.

If anybody wants the source, I can release it also.

EDIT: Uploaded new version, since the old one had a number of issues. It also tells you that something went wrong, rather than letting windows show an ugly and unfriendly looking error message.

EDIT2: Uploaded another version. This one adds more detailed explanations for why things didn't work (if it failed).

The problem is:

Where put extracted files? How force to use extracted files?

I've tried loading with the steam Half-Life engine but no luck, closest i've gotten is to have the splash appear and then a crash.

Post subject:  Re: Counter-Strike Online

I have just built a newer version of NARTool. The command-line is slightly improved... however the big change with this release is the new model decryptor. This is because they started encrypting the model files (thanks to "well-oil-beef-hooked" for telling me about this and providing test cases).

Decrypting model files should be pretty easy, again it's a command-line program. If you want to decrypt all model files, just drag the models folder into the provided batch file, "decrypt-models.bat", and it does the rest. Or you can decrypt them individually (if you don't want to overwrite the existing model files). Don't worry if it says that the model files aren't valid. This is normal (and those files will be skipped without being modified).

This new tool isn't nearly as safe as NARTool, but it should work fine.

NOTE: Due to a build mistake, you must install the VC++ 9 runtime library for "ModelDecryptor.exe" (and "decrypt-models.bat") to function properly.
