ok well ty for the big effort, but now i gotta wait for my rapidshare to go back up it'll take abt 6 minutes could you possibly upload all of the left 4 dead files? i mean the ncf files. :D

Yeah the only thing downloading for my is the left 4 dead base.ncf
I downloaded the binary. It works. Now I just need the client binary and left 4 dead sound.ncf.

The revolution patcher worked for me on the demo before it was released (drag steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead demo\bin\engine.dll into it).
I was able to play online using "Friends Only" lobby and then my friends could join me from the main menu (friends showup down the bottom) or when invited.

I was using SMD Patch to launch Steam using a blank account.

Thats WAY too slow and I'm on a T1 connection.

I've managed to launch the full version of L4D, and I have newest base & binaries...

However my sound files are still encrypted since I put them in the folder after the preload decryption. Is there anyway to decrypt them again? Or will someone need to upload them again?

I think you'll have to wait until they upload an unencrypted version. So did your game run fine? Like playable?

Thanks for that link agret, i noticed valve has just updated the base but it can be downloaded without problems.
When i have the full l4d im going to test it in esteamation and smd and let's see if it works.

That sucks, it's an Australian server and I pull 750kb/s off it (max of my connection).
Perhaps they have an incredibly bad link to you or they effectively kill international traffic?

You just have to wait for somebody who has the new sounnd files to create an update for you using CFToolbox, then you apply that update and all sounds will be decrypted.
