I like how everyone is blatenly ignoring the issue about both cracked AND legit accounts getting disabled using this. Enjoy your steam perma-bans.

Noone is ignoring anything, but what can we do ? It's a known risk. Just make sure your blank account has nothiing in common with the legit one. Most ppl use the same email, that's why both are getting disabled.

Interesting. I'm sure nobody here who have had their legit and blank accounts disabled because of this will truthfully identify using the same email when setting up the blank account. So nobody will ever know what specifically is causing it.

An easy solution to the disabled accounts is to simply exchange Steam usernames via private message. If our accounts do get disabled, it'd be easy to identify any spies from Valve. I'd like to play L4D, so PM me if you want to.

There could be a lot of ways their figuring out were using games we shouldn't on non legit accounts. Could be ip addys, registry entries, who knows. It's like playing on live with a flashed 360. It's a roll of the dice, you just might crap out.

took all the right steps, was playing with friends and now 3 of us have banned steam accounts, some legit and non-legit.. this sucks.

heres the reason you have been banned 1 most likely your using the exe and not the bat 2 your dumbass registered a blank account with the same email or close to the same one as your legit 3 you probably put some sort of information from your main account to your blanks

Dont make a another account on same steam folder that u were using with ur legit accounts... Make different folder and intall steam and creat account.use that steam folder l4d only

If you use cracked and legit account with the same Steam folder on the same PC, be sure to do the following before switching between them: 1. Delete steam.cfg and steam.dll if you are using UndeadPatch, is similar or other cracks 2. Delete both .blob files 3. Delete informations about Steam in registry. Instead of point 1. and 2. you can also delete your complete Steam except steam.exe and steamapps folder and start steam.exe after it. Don't know if L4D stores informations about the Steam account in its game folder. I think it is time for a non-steam crack for L4D (no I don't count copying hl2.exe from other source games as a solution).

shmelle They name this "crack" batcrack, it is a bat containing this: "hl2.exe -game left4dead" The hl2.exe is copied from any source engine game. btw. any plans about RevEmu going to support L4D?
