PeJpepiG Try to run both Steam and MiSteam with the same user rights. If you don't, the machine dependent passphrase can be different because of the registry access rights. |

PeJpepiG's problem on Windows Server 2008 has been realised and the FAQ on the first page updated. It is worth noting that this patcher is ineffective if you do not choose to remember your steam password. This is because every time you enter a password and login, the blob settings are reset before steam continues to load. The FAQ in the first post has been updated appropriately. |

General stuff: Make sure you have .NET 3.5 and Steam installed, and have logged into Steam with the account you want to use before trying to alter subscriptions with MiSteam. |

Ok, but please make sure that you have done the following first (all of this is also covered in the main post): Make sure you have .NET 3.5 and Steam installed, and have logged into Steam with the account you want to use before trying to alter subscriptions with MiSteam. You must tell Steam to save you password or MiSteam cannot work. |

Mitsukarina If Steam replaces clientregistry.blob will MiSteam still remember which subscriptions I had? If not that would be useful. btw. do I have to apply MiSteam again if Steam only updates the CDR? I'm normally not using Steam at all that's why I'm asking. |

This is not misteam but steam thing. Every new day, when i start steam, the subscriptions are reseted. so i have to run misteam once, every day. either the cdr updates every day, or steam just resets the thing. |

A full replacement of clientregistry.blob would mean reset subscriptions at the moment. An update of the CDR? I'm not sure - I've used MiSteam to set subscriptions the day I wrote it in my usual steam installation and it has remembered them since - of course I don't know if any subs have changed since then. The Keys MiSteam messes with are not in the CDR, but I'm not 100% sure whether they are refreshed anyway when CDR is refreshed, but my subs have been remembered for 5 days plus so far and I'll keep an eye on them. But yes, a way of saving the subscriptions and updating them on every launch may be possible. emiderg wrote: This is not misteam but steam thing. I have no idea why this would be as long as you save your password all should be well until you change user. For the record, I have a pure steam installation with the only non-steam file being MiSteam.exe and I am also using the beta client if that makes a difference? I run that config on 2 Vista x64 machines that remain logged into their own steam accounts and have not had to reset the subscriptions once since I launched this version of MiSteam. I don't start Steam with windows. Would be nice to narrow down why this happens for you (platform / client / other considerations etc) |
