Confirmed. it is on daily basis. Today it happened again. i first opened MiSteam to check if subscriptions are there. OK they are on their place. I open Steam and there is few seconds longer wait, and then it starts with Pre-load Complete on the games. I exit open MiSteam, only sub 0 is there. i apply subscriptions, start steam, and then it works, for today, no matter how many times i open steam. Now the waiting at startup is smaller, then the first time, when it reseted the subs.
OFC, i have enabled login automatically (this is enabled by default). Haven't tried with off line mode.
I'm on vista ultimate 32, steam is NOT BETA. It is latest non beta, with the infamous Download paused bug, even on fully updated games.

Ok, I want to get to the bottom of this, so I'm going to install Vista x86 in a VM - however didn't you say some time ago that solutions like SteamUp & the old MiSteam needed steam.cfg to work on your system or else steam kept updating itself?

That kind of implies a problem with your steam installation somewhere - you may want to rename your steam folder, clean the registry, reinstall steam, copy in MiSteam and then see what happens - you won't need anything in SteamApps to test MiSteam subscriptions and you can just rename your old folder back if it proves nothing..

*Edit*

I have installed Vista x86, tried MiSteam and all works as planned - I will test again over the next few days to see whether or not the subscriptions stick.

Ive got Windows Server 2008 x86 it should be the same as Vista x86, but it works here, also over several days.

Well yes, can confirm that all is working again today - however I did just have a thought...

Does the account you're using have any legit subscriptions on it? It occured to me that I only ever test with blank accounts (which is recommended anyway)

Failing that I'm not sure why it doesn't work for you and why your Steam installation insists on updating each day - I would really try a clean Steam install and see if that helps?

Whatever. My steam installation seems to be fine. if i have time, i'll do reinstalling, etc.
As a feature requet. Add arguments: -addsubs, -removesubs and -applysubs.

And after that, you will have coma (or semicolon) separated list of SubIDs. Eg Misteam.exe -addsubs 100;120;150;200.

-addsubs shoud add subs to current ones. -removesubs shoud remove subs from the ones applied.
and -applysubs will apply completely new set of subs, and it will remove the old ones.

EDIT
No, i dont have legit games, the account is empty.

A yes. in the gui, after you applythe subIDs have one read only textbox where the coma separated list will show, of the currently applied subs.

Well, what I was going to do was have a MiSteam.blob that holds a copy of your last MiSteam subscriptions per user. (along with other useful settings) That way MiSteam knows if they got reset and can easily allow you to restore them at the click of a button.

Would that achieve what you want or was there a reason you specifically wanted command line?

No, no special reason. only a way for quick applying/restoring your subscriptions. Well u can still add the arguments, its not big deal. And with your mechanism of saving the subs in misteam.blob you can also add argument -restoresubs <username>.
Its good having arguments for small applications.

Post subject:  Re: MiSteam Steam Subscription Patch v0.6.5 Alpha [04-MAR-2009]

MiSteam Alpha 0.6.5 Released

Doesn't contain many requests, but I wanted to try out this method of recovering subscriptions when the Steam account is reset. Please test.

Changes are as follows:

Changelist:
Simplified GUI - as MiSteam can only handle the last logged in user then this user is now automatically processed as a default
MiSteam now stores a copy of MiSteam subscriptions per Steam user in MiSteam.blob. If your subscriptions are reset for any reason then MiSteam will allow you to quickly restore them at the click of a button.

Download is in the first post

Redownloaded, found that games I legitimately own will now work on legit servers. Nice.

If you can't remove subscriptions delete your ClientRegistry blob, I think.

Works fine for me selecting both single and multiple subscriptions to add and remove.

Can you supply more details please? What Operating System?, What Subscriptions?, provide a walkthrough of exactly what you are doing and I may be able to re-create the problem.

my problem is kinda weird and i'm running windows 7 beta build 7000 and well i'm trying to remove the valve test apps that were showing and then after i clicked on the subscriptions the button remained gray and didnt allow me to remove them
i wanted to keep all subscriptions so whenever i got a new game on steam i could load it without cracked steam crazy bugs
