Works perfectly, just played 2 hours non-stop. :)
I even got a few achievements. (Dunno if they were saved after I quit the server tough)
Anyway I didn't manage to unlock any weapons. Is it even possible with this release?
When I get to the loadout screen it says it can't connect to steam or something, but I've seen other players on the server use new weapons (sniper's bow, spy's ambassador...)
I'm not using steam or any emulators.

So how do I unlock and use new weapons?

Ehm, if you use this release, you do use an emulator! Every Non-Steam release must be based on an emulator. You could also launch the games without an emulator with steam in background, but that wouldn't be non-steam.

As I told million times now: You cannot unlock weapons! It is impossible atm! And you are not going to get any unlocks without legally purchasing the game.
Here's how the system works: If you done a few archievements, some unlock data will be send to valve's archievement server. But this only works for real steam accounts who really own the game! That's why you receive a "couldn't connect to steam network" error when you try to access the character and info setup. This also happens when you use a blank cracked steam account.

Non-Steam / blank Steam account with cracked Steam = no weapons, never due to server checks
Steam account which owns TF2 = it's legit = can be authenticated by servers = unlocks possible

The only possibility to unlock weapons in non-steam releases is emulating these server checks. This was done once by REVOLUTiON group. Due to the frequent updates for TF2 this emulation has to be re-written every time an update gets released. The emulator got updated a serveral times, but the server check emulator didn't get updated (yet).

Thank you very much for your fast and informative response.

But I still don't get how come some people could unlock and use new weapons on the server I played on?

Also, do you know how much will it take for emulator to be rewritten? How long does it usually take? A few weeks or a few months?

The ones with the unlocked weapons have legal accounts.
Don't ask me how difficult it is emulate unlocked weapons. Last time shmelle (member of rev crew) said that they are working hard on a new unlock system.

*edit:
Good news everyone! Here's a serverbrowser fix, which let's you search for servers again:

Serverbrowserfix

Instruction:
Just extract the archive contence into your Team Fortress 2 folder.

Hi! I'm having a bit of trouble extracting the latest patches, I'm able to extract the first patch without any problems but when I go to extract the second and third I'm unable to open them. So..I was wondering..If I were to combine all three patches, then open it all at once with one password insertion and then extract it to the TF2 directory would there be any problems? ;p

I've also re-downloaded it multiple times to ensure there was no missing files.

@ Sacul
You just have to open the first file and 7zip will automatically extract the other part files.

Post subject:  Re: Team Fortress 2 v2.1 (Non-Steam)-Cr@ck-IT

Hello,

Because I've buyed TF2 1 month ago and I have the game original + Steam, without any cracks, etc.

Now I want to setup Dedicated Team Fortress 2 Server, Non-Steam, where players in my LAN to join into. My questions are:

  1. How to setup the server ? Where to download "host" server files ?
    CR@CK-iT wrote:
Q.: Can I host a dedicated server with this release?
A.: No. If you want to host one, get hlds from http://www.steampowered.com, download the game and patch it with ViTiAN's patches or the latest REVOLUTiON emulator to let cracked clients join.
    Maybe you mean this ?;
  2. After this, what should I have to do, what cr@ck is the best and Up-to-Date to use to crack the server with ?
  3. I want my players/clients to use latest version of TF2 ( Non-Steam, cr@cked ) with latest patch. They have to use this guide from the first post ? What about achievements and special weapons. When they will be able to use, when they cannot ?;
  4. Is there any statistics system, like PsychoStats, HLStatsX, etc. to use with TF2 ?

I've search here in the forums, found some texts and interesting posts, but... :)

Thanks.

GEVREKA
1. Read some tutorials here: viewforum.php?f=30
And the server on your screenshot is the server that need Steam to run. All serious servers use dedicated standalone servers. HLDS Update tool.
3. RevEmu
I think those you mentioned works fine TF2. At least HLstatsX does.

Why do I get over 200 servers with the new server browser fix? Why can't I get only the Setti ones?

EDIT: When I try to connect to any of those 200 servers, it just says "STEAM validation failed", I assume they are not Setti

1. Check if the entry
  1. MasterServer=213.239.209.221
is set in Rev.ini in TF2 folder (without any signs in fron of it / without #!).
2. Check if the MastersServers.vdf in bin\config\ is set to read-only and open it to confirm that 213.239.209.221:27011 is set.
3. Make sure Steam isn't running in background! You have to terminate it!
