I just tried my legit steam version of TF2 fully updated and it loads maps and servers without a problem. Don't know if that helps diagnosis or not. |

I also have a problem. Whenever I try to join a game Team Fortress 2 just automatically shuts off and creates an .mdmp file... -Edit-: I have updated TF2 to 3.3 and everything else |

Yes. There is only one user account on my Windows XP so it is the admin. Edit: By the way, I originally got this as a torrent which had a separate comprehensive patch 1.7 and I added that after installing. Would that cause any problems? Also here is what happens the second before it closes:

If that is the case, should I still download the torrent but not put the 1.7 update? |

DarkLeo wrote: If that is the case, should I still download the torrent but not put the 1.7 update? Wait... did I get this right: You downloaded Team Fortress 2 via a torrent and it's not my release? If so: I cannot offer you any support for and 3rd party releases. It is never recommended to mix up other releases and updates. Please if you haven't already downloaded my release: Give it a try, download my Team Fortress 2 release, apply my latest update and you might have a chanche to enjoy the game. |

Oh no. It was yours. There was a link directing me to this website. At least, I hope it was yours. The Description was almost verbatim on the first page. Wasn't this your torrent? http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/4842672/Team_Fortress_2_Non-Steam |

Thus I cannot confirm if it's really my release. |

I see. Maybe someone else uploaded it. However, wouldn't a link to the forum and the patch updates refer to yours then. I mean, it can't be any others and I do not want to assume anything. -- Edit -- Hmmm...I see another standalone TF2 on this website http://cache.phazeddl.com/1453287/ I will check both of them to see if I still have the problem with TF2 crashing when I attempt to connect. |

This is the first time my Cr@ck-ITs TF2 copy crashes all the time and it is since I`ve install update 3.3! I reinstalled the game and applied the update, but the problem still occours. Then I tried TF2 version 3.0 and it works. I think the emulator does not fit the latest TF2 update, but in fact it is only my guess. Cr@ck-IT may know why and lets hope a new rev-emu is available soon... |

Most problems occours because of old drivers. That is why directX, the graphics-driver and Windows should be up to date. Even directX 9.0c gets never revisions (last revision: september 2009)! Sometimes other components like sound-hardware, Games for Windows Live, Flash or Net Runtime Environment need an update. However, check always first your software-revision!
