Please help me I played normaly yesterday but today no servers pop up and when i try to join some which i've added on favourites it sais Steam validation error. I've installed the 3 patches listed in order and everything, i've tried reinstalling it, changing the master server file and much more but no luck so far.

Did you change your name from the options?

I changed it yesterday when i played with the ''name'' option in the console.

i only found a tool to manage this with the original steam game.

Hey, have you applied the SP2 update 2 patch from this site or not? You will have to tell that first in order to access the problem.

However, this error is due to two things.

1. You are trying to join Steam Servers, (whereas you should only try on cracked servers)
2. You cant join steam servers with a PATCHED standalone...as a rule (how can you ?)

I downloaded the game and applied all the patches but still i can't play it. When i run hl2.exe the valve logo comes up and then crashes it says engine error "could not load library client". Please could you help me fix the problem because i just about tried everything to fix it.

@dummwill i have a problem agian whit the standalone your release here is my version of my server

But when i try to connect say something like the server you trying to connect is running older ??? any ideas?

i really dont get why ppl are getting all these errors
if you've installed all the updates and point them to WHERE START.BAT IS
there shouldnt be any problems
only install my updates on my standalone

Now in case you all didn't figure it out there is but another update to version 1.0.0.50
That means if you have 1.0.0.49 it won't work
Type "version" in console to see what version your running
Look on Setti's server list http://css.setti.info/servers/css/ to find the server your trying to join and look for the version that server is running
If your version is different than the server's version you may have to reinstal the patches to get to the right version #
However If your favorite server is running 1.0.0.50 like mine is, you want to be kind to drummwill and polite to everyone by giving the young man a minute to compile another update
PLEASE HOLD THE QUESTIONS ALREADY ADDRESSED IF POSSIBLE
And in case your favorite server is not on the list at setti it's not cracked.My favorite server went steam only for a while to prevent crashing

P.S. I found another patch for the last update because I was dieeeeeeiinngggg to play also and it worked.....But it made my sounds in game goofy....Applied drummwill patch and sound fixed so I'll wait for the goods

The problem with the validation error is gone ( I don't know why or how I just started the pc today and it worked ) but now it sais ConVarRef sb_dontshow_maxplayer_warning doesn't point to an existing ConVar on like 95% of the servers I try to join. I think it is something to do with my connection because the servers I can join have around 5-10 people and come first when I refresh them.

Any ideas how to fix that?

@drummwill Please help cos i tried what you sai,d i still get the "engine error client cannot load library", and if i try to run with the start.bat it says "no permissions to run cstrike".

Please i tried google and searched just about everywhere to find a fix for this problem.

I have a question,noob question, how to activated steam?
coz, when I running CS then i click Find Servers,
its says, steam beta must running to make us Find Servers.

And how to insert a new weapon like Kriss SVD to inventory?
I has download a source of weapon but i didnt understand to do it.
