I disagree, CSS has a lot of years and is the most popular game on the net with World of warcraft, now i said to you, wait that Modern Warfare 3 will out, on 2012, then take a look how many people will STILL playing MW2 and how many people will still playing CSS.

I work both of them but the game style of CSS it´s only the best one.

EDIT: Only one game has the same level like CSS and It´s Left 4 Dead, in my opinion.

from now on, i will make a cumulative update of the game version (4307) changes
and release an update every time the 1.0.0.xx is changed

about your config.cfg thing, i will look out for that next time i compile, sorry :P

with those of you with errors, please describe what is printed out in the console so i can at least see whats wrong

Hmmm Voting :roll:

For me I have a server also, so it irritates me by saying "Your server is out of date...." and I immediately go for an update.

However, it doesn't effect me much for the standalone.

For me I can go with a cumulative one (1st option) or whichever is convenient for you. You are the Boss Sir.

Let other users come up with their votes. :razz:

Hey i'm using you standalone, for a lan party i'm organising, i created the server on another machine and i can connect to it fine, but when i get on the server i find there are no gun sounds or footsteps and stuff, but can here the scope of a sniper it's wierd any ideas ?

I dont know about you but it happened with me also once. The problem is not with the server but client.
Because in my case I recopied the sound files but it failed...I tallied the file sizes and everything i could get but it did not work.

I Ultimately had to reinstall the complete client. Probably it misses some cfg or res files something like that.

Recopying/reinstalling/redownloading the standalone would help, hopefully. :razz:

You are in insecure mode. You must restart before you can connect to secure servers. <--- The error i get.

Tried your method, no dice. Will this issue be fixed or should i just delete CSS now?

don't understand the issue here, my release is fully compliable with VAC and most servers do have it.
my own server has VAC and with my release ppl come in fine

Right click on the icon of the CSS on the desktop.
I make the following changes in the field of target:

Replace Counter-Strike Source.BAT" with hl2.exe"-game cstrike
I then try to connect to the server.

that makes the game in insecure mode
the whole reason the BAT was there is because it contains parameters that makes it secure
