Where I put this "-heapsize 256000" fix in Proper Emperios version? Because there is no hl2.exe shortcut, where it should be!

Exactly the same problems here and I have done the same things trying to solve this. Tried the Omega drivers aswell, didn't work though. Maybe the problem is with the [AHU] release? I'll try with the Emporios release as I get it..

I have the retail dvd, i copied across all the GCF files following the make your own DVD Crack guide on this forum.
For a while i was getting the can't find background image 'materials/console/background01.vtf' error msg, after reading through the threads ive discovered that the majority of my GCF files are still encrypted. I got a friend to send me accross the entire C:/hl2/materials/console folder and that solved the background problem, the game runs but then freezes after the valve intro.
Does anyone know a way of decrypting the files. I cant use steam in any way shape or form as there is a firewall here which i do not have access to. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated, ive been trying for 4 days now to get this thing working. Would someone be able to host the necessary files?
Thanks, Jonx

Pulled my hair out and managed to make up a couple of new cuss words for 2 days trying to figure that out too...
Just grab the Emporio APe fix and copy the client.dll into the hl2/bin folder and choose to overwrite the old client.dll.
Problem solved.
Note: if it doesnt ask to overwrite the old client.dll, than you are most likely copying it to the wrong bin folder, make sure its the
HALF-LIFE.2.PROPER.OFFLINE.NOSTEAM-AHU\hl2\bin folder and not the HALF-LIFE.2.PROPER.OFFLINE.NOSTEAM-AHU\bin folder.
See the difference?
The right one is the hl2/bin folder

for materials/console/background01.vtf error, it means that gcfs are were extracted encrypted, they need to be decrypt first.

Yeah i know that, but how can they be decrypted without authenticating the game through steam?
The background error is no longer a problem on my part as a friend sent me his hl2/materials/console folder. This was only around 4mb and solved the problem immediatley.
Now the game just freezes after the valve intro and becomes non responsive, i have to end the program and crash back to the desktop.
Im presuming that all the other files are encrypted aswell???
How can i decrypt them, there must be a way??
Jonx

Here it is: For CLARENCE :Sticky? i think yes
When you have ai disabled in the game, quit, change your windows date to 2007.
start the game, load the save that you had ai disable in, save the game, quit.
turn back windows date to actual date, run the game and load the save game you have just created, no ai disabled!
when it comes back do the same thing again
No problems, only solutions!
