yup we know that, try reading other threads about steam ticket, or see in announcement.. most topic discussed is the steam ticket, others have way to fix it.. hope you'll get lucky on that

Hi, Greets to everyone especially emporio for their great work. Great work by Mission and clarence . Ok I have the final version update 2 and some other patches, I can play offline by myself with or without a dedicated server no probs. This is my problem,
I am going to host a large lan where CSS will (hopefully) be played. At the moment (this is before I applied update 2) when I start a dedicated server one computer can join but when I attempt to join a second computer it tells me that the user 'account pending' is already connected and cannot connect. How can I make it so each computer that connects has a different user name or just bypass this altogether. Do I have to install steam onto all the computers? Should I be running the hl2.exe without the -steam (I'm assuming yes but its worked fine offline for one person, doesnt the steamapp.cfg configure the username?) Will the update 2 fix this? Any help will be much appreciated I dont' care about playing this online and am having no problems with missing files or any other errors I just want to play with my buddies on a lan. Oh and I have 60megs of webspace I'm willing to donate for downloads 
Thanks guys PS I tried to read all 90 pages but i got to 15 and couldn't stand it no more with the stupid missing background and playing online errors.... |

you mean lan, that is offline and just networking for comps? you dont need steam to play it offline... btw, your version is outdated latest update is update 9, you should try getting this updates update 5 ( contains update 1-5 ) update 6 update 7 update 8 update 9 try to find here.. http://cs.rin.ru/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5020 |

Clarence, When I try to run CSS without the -steam command i get this error "Unable to get IFileSystem interface from filesystem factory" and yes I have renamed my steam.dll. Is this fixed with the update 9? Yes I do mean offline with a Lan of about 20 comps all running CSS installed from the same files. The problem Im having is that when I setup a lan with a dedicated server if anymore than 1 user joins the game it tells me that that user is already playing (user steam account pending). Is this fixed with update 9? Sorry for asking all these dumb questions. I promise when I get everything updated and working I will mirror all the updates on my server |

Quick question ....... I followed this thread back in late november, and I've now come back just now. My lucifer CS got nuked back in December, so this past weekend I managed to get my hands on a burned copy of HL2, all 5 cd's. Now I just went to set up my steam account, but unfortunately the cd key is already used, since my buddy actually purchased the game and used the serial key that came with the game. What should I do then? Would a key generator work? I'm thinking not. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you in advance. |

"C:\Games\CSS\hl2.exe" -steam -game cstrike your using steam? each update has its own fixes |

Ok I got i working turns out that all i needed to do was update with all the patches. I have them all now but seeing as I only have 60mb of web space which patch is the most wanted? 9? Get back to me and i will setup a mirror for it. It will still work with the -steam in the shortcut emporio have just done an excellent job on this one, just update ur game and you can do anything a legit user can if u think about it logically. BTW I tried many other forums and sources before finding this one and they all had no idea of the patches in fact most of them were telling me to buy more copies of the game! losers... Thanks to the forum!
