Hey, i read your tutorial and i think i did every thing rite, BUT, when i click the properties of the CS icon on the desktop, the target is UNCHANGEABLE. So i just added the "-steam -nomaster -game cstrike +localinfo mm_gamedll dlls/zbotcz.dll" to the start location instead of target. I wasn't exactly able to open the steamapp.cfg file either, so i opened it through notepad and typed the following exactly and saved: SteamAppId=92 #SteamAppVersionId=0 SteamInstallPath="D:/Program Files/Valve2" # [farohi@msn.com] #SteamAppUser=aalb002@cafe.boomtown.net SteamAppUser= theplastercaster SteamUserPassphrase="xxxxxxx" Basically now i can open the game and see all the servors but can't connect b/c i'm "not logged in" or something like that. So help???  I NEED TO PLAY CS soon dammit.  Thanks.

u can edit your target....right click on shortcut to game click properties, then in the target line, after hl.exe" add a space then add: -steam -nomaster -game cstrike +localinfo mm_gamedll dlls/zbotcz.dll no quotes: so it will look this this: "C:\Program Files\valve2\hl.exe" -steam -nomaster -game cstrike +localinfo mm_gamedll dlls/zbotcz.dll |

that's the thing though i can't change the target. I can't even click on it, it's like greyed over, i don't know if it'll help but it reads "HL and CS 1.6 No-Steam 25 September 2004". Man u replied damn quick. |

I'm not sure what u meant but basically i installed everyhing on D: drive. Steam was installed on on folder called Valve, and CS and the three patches were on Valve 2. Again, i can't touch the target part of the CS icon, so i changed the "Start location" thing to ""D:\Valve final 2\" -steam -nomaster -game cstrike +localinfo mm_gamedll dlls/zbotcz.dll". And the steamapp.cfg file properties are: SteamAppId=92 #SteamAppVersionId=0 SteamInstallPath="D:/Final Valve 2" # [farohi@msn.com] #SteamAppUser= farohi@msn.com SteamAppUser= aalb002@cafe.boomtown.net SteamUserPassphrase="xxxxxxx" Simply, i can't change the target, and the steamapp.cfg file was opened through Notepad. Did i install the last patch wrong or something? B/c the game opens and all its just that i can't get into any of the servors. The message i get is: reason-- SteamGetEncryptedUserIDTicket() failed with error 101: Not logged in.

dont use email address @ SteamAppUser, use only the account username and password that u create in steam.. you shortcut must be "D:\Valve final 2\hl.exe" -steam -nomaster -game cstrike +localinfo mm_gamedll dlls/zbotcz.dll and in steaminstallpath must be SteamAppId=92 #SteamAppVersionId=0 SteamInstallPath="D:\Valve final 2" # [as is clearified later on, this should be your email address:] #SteamAppUser=aalb002@cafe.boomtown.net SteamAppUser=username (in steam) SteamUserPassphrase="password" (in steam) with quotes! make sure shortcut line and steaminstall path is the same.. excep the hl.exe in steaminstall path |
