plzzz guys~! help! I have many of my friends setting up CS 1.6 Non-steam already... but the only time we can play together is when 3 of Rin Ru servers have vacancy... and not everyone can fit in those servers too..... please! someone please tell me how to create a private server which my friends can join from their homes so we can all play together~!? THanks~

just do what i said, start over if u want.......create a folder, call it valve2 (in c:program files) extract the cs1.6 to that folder, apply the v19 patch(its an auto installer i believe), then extraxt the cs 1.6 play on steam patch to the valve2 folder, and let it overwrite files.....make a shortcut to hl.exe on your desktop and make sure your target says:

"C:\Program Files\valve2\hl.exe" -steam -nomaster -game cstrike -applaunch 92

(or whatever your directory is)

then edit your steamapp.cfg to say this:


SteamAppId=92
#SteamAppVersionId=0
SteamInstallPath="C:\Program Files\valve2"
(or whatever your directory is)
# [as is clearified later on, this should be your email address:]
SteamAppUser=your steamlogin name
SteamUserPassphrase="your steam login password"

if u need a clientblob, go into your steam valve folder, and copy it into valve 2

i tried creating a new account and uninstalled and reinstalled everything but it still had a ticket error. so now i guess i will try a few of the fixes.

i do have one question though,

how do i go back to using my old account? i want to use the account that i had before i made this new one, then try a few fixes with the old account. because my new one doesnt have any of my friends or favorite servers. do i just have to switch in steam, or do i have to move some clientregistryblobs and steamapp.config things?? thanks alot. any help would be greatly appreciated.
