I use newst ULC Launcher with newest revemu.
I copied the needed GCF files for HL:DM, CS:S, DOD:S from my original Steam Account to my ULC dir.
HL:DM and CS:S worked.

When i now start DOD:S and create a server, i get the following error:

CD Key authentication invalid

any ideas on that?

The emulator version is the same, it was posted on 12-nov-2009, so what do you think?
There's no new version yet.

Hi, I'm having a bit of a problem. I always used you patch to "heal" client version of Team-Fortress 2. But with the latest update on 08.12.09 dll's in the bin folder have been updated and now it does show error message on game start, though if I press ok, it continues normally and I can connect to a server.

I'm running TF2 servers and need to provide appropriate patch for client to connect, and in these conditions it hardly can be recommended. Could you please make a fast fix?

People seem to have problems but the update doesn't seem to come. I've seen hex edited versions but for me all of them crashed. I created my own version which diverts MessageBox calls insteam of nop-ing them out. Because of this, it's stable. The included exe file doesn't seem to work with stryder's loader, so don't use the exe file with that crack. It is the same that is posted in the faq section, I just replaced the icon and renamed it. Steamclient.dll has been edited to call MessageBox from msgfix.dll instead of user32.dll, nothing else has been changed. Msgfix.dll must be in the same directory as steamclient.dll.

This should work for servers and TF2 as well but I didn't try it.
Credits of course go for the revcrew, I only created 2 empty MessageBox functions.

If I happen to make a mistake by posting this, I ask a mod to remove this post.

you only created 2 empty MessageBox functions?
works wonders on l4d2 DS with stryder client.

nice work bro..

EIDT: Using the modded rev-emu files as-is, the server is cracked, but doesn't show in server browsers.
You have to rename the original dll's as usual. Here is my setup as i posted on the bugtracker, editted a bit:

Server is updated to 2.0.0.6 using modded rev-emu.
Client is updated to v2.0.0.6, using stryder's loader.

Server Setup:
<root>\bin\steamclient_l4d2.dll <-- original dll.
<root>\bin\steam_l4d2.dll <-- original dll.
<root>\bin\steamclient.dll <-- rev-emu dll.
<root>\bin\steam.dll <-- rev-emu dll.
<root>\rev.ini

Rev.ini setup:

  1. [Emulator]
  2. Language = English
  3. Logging=False
  4. SteamDll=Steam_l4d2.dll
  5. SteamClient = True
  6. SteamUser = SteamPlayer
  7.
  8. [Log]
  9. FileSystem=False
  10. Account=False
  11. UserID=False
  12.
  13. [steamclient]
  14. PlayerName = SteamPlayer
  15. Logging=False
  16. ClientDLL=steamclient_l4d2.dll
  17.
  18. [GameServer]
  19. AllowOldRev=True
  20. AllowUnknown=True
  21. AllowCrackedSteam=True
  22. AllowLegitSteam=True
