I LOVE UCL! Thank you for an excelent program!
I run a once a month LAN at the computer store that I work at and we have a 12 computers for people to play on. We also set up tables for others to bring thier own comps too. Valve won't even TALK to me about proper licensing unless I want to pay over $1500 a year, just to use it once a month!
This software is indispensable. Now if only you could incorporate the proper files to run a TF2 listen server without extra prep work.
Oh well, I'm off to dig in the forums on how to make that aspect work for me!

Hey Gecka (and the rest of the UCL crew ) First off, thx 1000x for UCL Like most here i also use it for lan parties, it's a blast ! Got one question thou, i want to integrate all my other non-steam games in it too, copy the game + no-cd crack in the ucl folder. But i want to make a shortcut in ucl but then you have to pick the exe and then it's a fixed path to the exe. So for instance on my pc i store my games on the G: drive , so in my UCL the link to the exe (let's say Red Alert 3) would be , "g:\games\ucl\games\ra3\ra3.exe" , i want to place all our lan games in the ucl folder so we can share 1 folder to play all the games. But for example my friend want to put ucl on his C: drive. So then then link in UCL i created for Red Alert 3 won't work on his pc... Is it possible to uhm make a link and that ucl knows it's in own directory ? like for example i would give something like this as a link --> %exepath%\games\ra3\ra3.exe Think that would be a possibility ? Thx again for all your work..

Hey, the relative paths issue has been brought up many times so far. I'll put this request in the queue and this will definitely be implemented, but please wait until the next new version of UCL

I have a problem with UCL regarding Half-Life 1 (No Source version). It does not recognize the game even if I have the needed GCFs: half-life engine.gcf half-life.gcf platform.gcf All GCFs are valid, I already checked them with GCFExplorer. In addition to that Condition Zero, Condition Zero Deleted Scenes and Counter Strike, that are based on the same engine, are detected correctly by UCL and running well. Do you have any idea that can help me?

Is there a nosteam solution for launching some of the new games that use steam_api.dll ? Like Starscape and Mr Robot ? (downloadable through cracked steam by the way) Tried to launch them but it doesn't work, they try to use imports from that dll and it fails EDIT: On second thought, this is the emulator's responsibility. I guess we need a steam_api.dll emu ?

For those games we rely on rev steamclient.dll. You can read everything here

emiderg wrote: For those games we rely on rev steamclient.dll. You can read everything hereI don't understand what that has to do with the 3rd party games that use steam_api.dll I already tried setting up revemu with them and they wouldn't start. Actually, now that I ran UCL I remembered that it doesn't see a lot of my games, like the two I mentioned already, Peggle Nights, tank universal etc. I've used the clientregistry.blob from my steam installation and refreshed and they still don't show up in the content list ! Needless to say, my steamapps folder is fine and the games are fine. I don't care about source games too much, I just wanna launch the single player games without needing stupid steam EDIT: updated the blob and now they show, but when I launch them they give me the usual crap about steamAPIinit failing, steam must be running etc

If you read that thread, especially the last messages you will see that steamclint.dll is outdated, (and revemu itself). So we need to wait revcrew to update their emulator. shmelle said that he will update both steam.dll and steamclint.dll to to work for those 3rd party games that use steam_api.dll. For those games as you may see in that thread we use very old steamclient as the latest (but few months old) is not working (it is only for source games). So we rely on revcrew, but as you know both Mitsukarina and shmelle are busy these days (weeks?) so the best we can do is wait and hope they will make a functional new version of the emulator.
