Well that wasn't very helpful :| . You need to post from the mods portal prelude and smod. And about garrys mod the entry is completely fine, the described problem is at your side.

Well the entries are completely fine so UCL should launch the mods fine. I cant tell whats the problem. Try these few things.
Try Installing Minimum Content for portal and hl2. If it don't works read more.
Update Content Description Record from Tools menu. Refresh Steam content. If that is not working go to Settings>Steam and disable "Junction Point". Then refresh steam content. If even the problem still exist than at last try updating revemu (it is least liketly that this is the problem).
And also are your gcfs 100% complete and valid? Use CFToolbox to check.
Now try aging reinstalling minimum content.

As you see in the post below yours from jer1Cho, his mods are working.

AFAIK you should update revemu. We'll soon release UCL 1.2 with updated revemu. If you know update it manually otherwise please wait we to release it.

Open UCL > Click Tool > Settings > Advanced tab > Look for emulator and change name.
Easypeasy.

Why don't you simply try it?
I don't think that CFT sets handles on the GCFs permanently, so it should be possible.

Yes there will be. Some day in December i hope.

neocero
As long as the game you want to launch don't depends on the gcf/ncf you're downloading/updating, that is possible. eg. from source 2007 binaries.gcf depend HL2:EP2, Portal, TF2 etc. so if you're downloading that file you cant play those games. Another note, while downloading you should not Refresh Steam Content in UCL, because while that operation is going UCL opens all GCFs to do some quick checks. Then it closes immediately.

Hey thanks for reply but the only emu i can change name in is rev emu and it doesnt run tf2 properly for me... the menu is all screwed up and it can't load the particle systems or crc maps so i can't join any server, tried disabling master server and steam client - same thing

EDIT: Solved it with the latest revemu
