yes steamid is unique for computer... ID generation system isnt public for secure reason

It is as long as shared ID, IP2ID and HL1 WON (can't generate unique ID) are active.
And changing this ID is very complicated.

Trunk changes:

Updated cintX's HookEmu support.
Added new config option LogRejectedClientTypeOnConnect which will enforce eSTEAMATiON to print info about policy restricted clients just before dropping them(this will help admins to understand which users rejected from their servers and why they see SteamStartValidatingUserIDTicket: Returned ESteamError 25 line in their servers sometimes).

Continuing my work and tests on Source 2007 engine(still no any promising progress in this area without client support).

And I also figured out why my server wasnt on setti list.
They told me that they only accept server where ALL clients can connect. If you block LEGACY steamemu or any other clients then they will kick you out of the list.
That sucks in my opinion but yeah......
There is no other way

I can confirm now that SteamID validation admin on amxx works right. Reserved slots works smooth and fine

Also I have not any problems with setti, as long as I use shared static IP for NS and allow all type clients

Can the community put pressure on them to change that stupid method? They are going to support non-unique ID's thus supporting cheaters officialy...
I they'll continue like this need of new master server will be needed to put setti down...
Ill see that i can do about... Maybe add option with unique timet to let those bitches join and after the timer is zeroed out drop them That setti think about it? They wanna do it hard way

During implementation of new trunk options ive found small bug in New(NonLegacy) SteamEmu security system on eSTEAMATiON side. They will be able to join even if set to False in configuration Most probably those are the clients with STEAM_ID_PENDING ID's

Setti supports all clients. Those made by you, me, the brazilian cracker, the russian cracker, the chinese cracker, the noob wanna-be-cracker and all the rest. All who can get the game running *MUST* be able to play somewhere. Setti provides list for those players.


You're way off there. Are you trying to puff your own "unique ID" community wrecking system or just downplaying Setti?


Server admins can install Mani Admin Plugin and enable "Kick STEAM_PENDING players". It does pretty much the same. Feel free to do your own timer system, but don't count on that Setti doesn't do counter-strike (pun intented).

Anyways, this nonsense bitching will not decrease number of cheaters. Blank Steam accounts are free. How many you've got? You can look at the right side of Steam and see how many cheaters there are there. There's nothing you can do to make cheaters disappear - except having very good administration with skills. Contact Setti administration at css.setti.info for detailed tips.

If you're going to continue your crusade for bringing Steam into non-Steam, then please contact Setti administration at css.setti.info and we'll work something out

Hmm. Not mine. auth system of client emus like SteamEmu,RevEmu and others so im not trying to "invent something" but many ppl invented something shared.
P.S if youll read the whole thread - seti is not my problem(ima not care at all) but ppls problem. Initiali nothing setti specific was implemented as i thougth adding to their list is enougth(traditional way) but ppl started reporting about server scanner and other stuff... So thats not my problem...

The big progress happened in setti vs eST area.

My dumb test server which has been configured with very strict security policy(no steamemu at all,no setti server scanner,no unknown clients,no legit-simulating emulators(new client type in 1.7 TRUNK)) is in setti's server list.

Wait one day and then it isnt anymore.
Perhaps you tricked setti xD But I dont know.
It was the same for my server.

First it was in the setti list and the next day it was gone.
Wait some time and you will see that they will kick you out of the list.
