trustno1 wrote: Both L4D and the L4D2 demo crash on my XP x32 with UCL 2.0 (L4D worked fine on UCL 1.2). L4D shows the main menu for a sec, 'blinks', and then crashes with a "There was a problem with left4dead.exe" message. L4D2 demo crashes while loading, with no message. I've got all ncf/gcf's updated, tried both the provided revemu and the latest one. Any help appreciated. For L4D: Enable steamclient. Settings>Revemu and select Steam Client, and click Save. Keep this selected, it is needed for all games. And, L4d2 demo doesnt work with revemu now. Please wait for update. |

It was enabled. rev.ini has "SteamClient =False" and "UCLSteamClient=True". HL2 and the episodes work fine, just L4D having these issues.Tried 4.1 below, same symptoms. emiderg wrote: And, L4d2 demo doesnt work with revemu now. Please wait for update. Ah, should've checked, my bad. Thanks.

UCL 2.0 Alpha 4.1 - Bugfixes only Fixes:
Emulators used: RevEmu 9.81 RC3, SteamEmu 3.83 To have new weapons in TF2, copy items_440.bin from ucl\revemu\ to steamapps\<steam user>\Team Fortress 2\platform\ Test this, if there are not some stopper bugs (there shouldn't be), we'll update the first post. Edit: Oups, i forgot to add readme and FAQ. Here is the same with those added.

I've tested the media and it scans correctly with GCF,NCF and WMV files in both the steamapps and steamapps/media folder. So all of my HL1, HL1 mods, Source, Source mods and media works now! Thanks! Some thirdparty games work (Killing Floor, braid, sin1, sin:eps) but some do not (dawn of war series) but that may be revemu or need a cracked exe to work. BTW: Is there a safe way to remove UCL 1.2 so it does not delete my steam and steamapps folder and contents? I'm using XP and it may be linked to the UCL 1.2 folder. |

For DoW, enable rev loader thing in rev.ini and steam_appid.txt (you can find the procedure in the FAQ too). But you probably have already done this (you say Braid works). Well, this may not work for all games, if it doesn't work then you need to wait for Revemu update. For UCL 1.2. Make sure the last UCL exit was normal, no error or Task Managers. Just start end exit UCL. Then go to ucl\revemu and ucl\steamapps and check if there is folder Steamapps. There shouldn't be, if there is, open cmd, go to ucl\revemu or ucl\steamemu and write del Steamapps (without ant other arguments). The JP will clear. Then delete UCL folder, and to delete UCL 1.2 settings, go to Documents and Settings\<User>\Local Settings\Application Data\UCL\UCL.exe<somenumbers> and delete 1.2.0.0 |

Well, this may not work for all games, if it doesn't work then you need to wait for Revemu update. This worked for DOW and its addons, nation red, saints row 2, UT3 and alien/zombie shooter one. However, it did not work for Penumbra Overture. I will recheck the steam contents again and see if I can fix it. |

ucl alpha 4.0 in win 7 32 bit is giving error just one time doing it while closing. fixing itself later error details in screenshot: http://netload.in/dateiyTSbhPJ4CO/3.jpg.htm I tried ucl 2.0 alpha 4.1 same OS It is not opening. first time or one time opening as administrator ; it is running stable later. error details in screenshot: http://netload.in/dateiBXlHb9wmJq/4.jpg.htm for 4.0 and 4.1 When I chance the launch mode as normally it is not opening. I tried delete folder and reextract content but didn't solved. then just rename the ucl folder and finally solved. |

Hm, thought the registry bug was solved and it was in alpha 4, appereanty it reapeared in 4.1. Not big deal, already fixed it. About launch mode. Please leave it to Manual, the "Normal" is deprecated. Ok, gona change the names now, the so called Manual will become normal, and the so called normal will become "emulator launch mode". |

Delete them one by one with delete button (on the keyboard). Then, dont refresh too often, because it's needed only when you have new game. Better filtering should be added in next release. |

edit: Never mind, giving UCL admin privileges solved the problem. Maybe you should make UCL check for admin and put out a warning if it hasn't the needed rights? I have Windows 7 x64 final and the game crashes on starting with this error: Beschreibung: Stopped working Problemsignatur: Problemereignisname: CLR20r3 Problemsignatur 01: ucl.exe Problemsignatur 02: 2.0.0.0 Problemsignatur 03: 4afb5a17 Problemsignatur 04: mscorlib Problemsignatur 05: 2.0.0.0 Problemsignatur 06: 4a27471d Problemsignatur 07: 2d44 Problemsignatur 08: 7b Problemsignatur 09: System.UnauthorizedAccess Betriebsystemversion: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.256.1 Gebietsschema-ID: 1031 Searching for Windows 7 in this thread didn't yield any results regarding this problem. |

Maybe you should make UCL check for admin and put out a warning if it hasn't the needed rights? Well UCL works fine without admin right. Small bug is causing this (write to HKLM\Software\Valve) which isn't really necessary for games and UCL to work. I already fixed this in the code. I'll pop a fixed release soon. For now, here's a fixed UCL.Steam.dll file. Just extract the archive in UCL folder and overwrite when asked.

Thanks, that worked! I use newst ULC Launcher with newest revemu. I copied the needed GCF files for HL:DM, CS:S, DOD:S from my original Steam Account to my ULC dir. HL:DM and CS:S worked. When i now start DOD:S and create a server, i get the following error: cd key authentication error Any idea on this? |
