BUT! the icon displays the message as being extracted, but the simpack window only
pops up for a spilt second, and nothing is in the "extract to.." folder.

The case has been sitting on my computer for sometime now...
And I can only look at the pretty pictures
Thanks for the appreciation ;) . But judging by the log I can say that there's something to the Simpack than to the way SiD Unpacker works. I can't say anything definite unless I have an image of that Supreme Commander 2.

Sorry for the late reply, I have a real bad interent connection, so there is no way I'll be able to post an image.

Otherwise I would have downloaded the pirate version and save me the trouble! ;;)

Wonder if you have an ideas?

EDIT: Also I get a message that "Supreme Commander 2 bin.ncf" is not present on disc. So I am guessing that is what is wrong with it!

Bollocks, I don't know why I even bother buying games these days!??!?

Thanks very much for you help and phoenix! Great work
James

bin.NCF is missing because it should be downloaded via Steam - nothing unusual unfortunately :) .

I was working on Supreme Commander 2 and Dawn of War 2:chaos rising.
Phoenix works it extract the game (as every game after Left 4 Dead 2: with some missing files like .exe and .dll)

The main problem's that looks impossible run Supreme commander 2 and Chaos Rising without the MEGA patch from steam (for supreme commander 2's something like 3gb of update which re-download all main files of the game, for dow2:cr's something like 1gb of update)

This is also my problem. i have a 56kbs internet connection, right now my provider put a bandwidth limit to 12kbs...it's impossible to me download all the update.

Also the releases from Razor and Skidrow had already the update (if you search on google you will find images of about 7gb, the original dvd's something about 4gb)

If we can find a way to play "also with some bugs" these two games without downloading the complete patch it will be good.

-- Edit --

Same Connection here, what crack do you have for Supreme Commander 2? I founded only a 33mb crack but is for the version v1.01 of the game or similar. With this crack i managed to run the game, but when you load any map (for skirmish, campaign or tutorial) the game crash to desktop

You need only to update the CDR in order to extract the game:
Run your phoenix and there's a voice in the menù like Update CDR-->by internet

-- Edit --

i'm with you james.
For now, i haven't found any way to play Supreme Commander 2 or Dawn of War 2 Chaos Rising...
...i still wait but right about now i think it's impossible.
Because all cracked release was made on the updated version and not the retail one, so there's no working crack and no cracked files for the retail (not updated) version.

for example, supreme commander 2 have a file (not included into the retail dvd, so only downloadable from Cracked version) called bp.scd.
I think all the troubles for sc2 are made by this file. But nobody had it for version 1.0 of the game. All cracked ones are made by 1.1 and, as far i know, the programmers choose to rebuild the entire game.

-- Edit --

The only thing i thinked, was to merge or try to merge the demo files with the retail dvd extracted one (i think we miss only bp.scd and supreme commander 2.exe).
So if we are lucky to find these files from demo version, we can try to run the game and see if it works or not

It's a known bug. The solution was written some pages earlier: Right click on the game and select "Emulator for this game" -> "Install a different one" and select REVOLUTiON emulator.
As for the HL:Source is concerned, you can either manually edit SteamEmu.ini in HL:Source folder or Right click on the game and select "Emulator for this game" -> "Mount additional GCFs" and deselect Half-Life source_russian.gcf if you don't have it.

And as for additional content in Garry's mod, I don't really know the solution, but you can also try mounting additional GCFs (that are of HL2, CS:S, DOD:S etc). If it won't help, please write back.

Since Portal now uses new Source 2007 Binaries 2.gcf, Phoenix doesn't yet know how to process it correctly.
The thing is, that it's not aware of the new "engine gcf" AppID 317. So, you can download this file and copy it to Phx_data dir.

This will add support for CS:S Beta and fix Portal issues.

You might also experience the Portal's "Couldn't load library client" error when your GCFs are not fully downloaded|acquired.
Consider validating and (if that's the case) downloading missing files thru CFToolbox.

Hi, as I downloaded the Dawn of War 2 DVD, I only have sid, sim files. I wanted the ncf files to use them with steam006 more easily than extracting everything. The problem is that SID unpacker shows the decrypted ncf but I cannot take them, I can only unpack. Is there a way to do that? Thanks.

As far as I could understand, you just need the NCF files to integrate DoW2 with Steam006 patcher. SID files do not contain NCF files. This is the way SiD Unpacker shows only the files that are (later) can be referred to this or that NCF.

Well, the only solution is to google for DoW2 NCFs or have a look @ Steam Content Sharing section or @ Simbiat's FTP file server. Search for dawn of war 2*.ncf or something like that.

Now fixed issues with preparing Source SDK. New version of the plugin can be downloaded @ Update Centre (Menu "Help" -> "Update Centre")
