That seems to be my problem. I've uploaded a new alpha iteration, it should solve the issue. Just delete the CSS folder entirely and the try launching it with a new Phx alpha (or press RMB on the game and select Prepare game content).

Well, actually, you can safely delete that file, because Phx won't be able to load the DLL on your system (isn't it XP 64-bit edition?)
FYI, it's a skin subsystem and you won't lose much if you don't got it loaded ;)

Hmm, that's strange nevertheless. Maybe you don't have some necessary libraries which a essential to properly working SkinCrafter library? Because, actually it should work with XP 32-bit. I'll see what i can do about it.

To $t@t!c_V()1D

Phoenix looks like a nice program, but where is the actual SID unpacking? If I understood right, it just downloads a 7z archive with a GCF file and a bunch of other files inside and then simply unpacks all this. Can it actually unpack and convert to GCF the local SID files without connecting to the internet?

EDIT:
After I wrote this text above, I learned a bit more about Phoenix and stuff, so the question now is: can I just use only my DVD for extracting GCF files from SID archives, or I still need to download mini-GCF (place holders?) for extracting from local SID files? Do I understand it right that DVD does not contain all needed files and I anyway need to download some other files either from Steam or from the Phoenix server? I hoped that Phoenix can be a tool that can help to play games as they are on the disk, without connecting and downloading anything.

That's because of Phx_SourceSDK.dll. Some of the antiviruses think that it's a virus-downloader or mth like that (but it doesn't even download anything). I've already fixed that.

Ermm...not yet. I'll be lacking the Inet connection July and August, so I won't be able to react immediately to the possible changes.
xxxyyyzzz wrote:

No. First of All because Steam actually does practically the same thing. It connects to its servers to download the "mini-GCF" (checksums of the files, latest version and some other stuff) then Steam addresses the disk to import unchanged files into GCF and if the checksums mismatch it tries to download the file for the latset GCF version from its servers (using your account to aunthenticate). BTW even if Steam compresses the stuff it transfers thru its protocol, Phx has a comparatively better LZMA compression (7z archives that are downloaded from the server). Thus its a better solution, though I haven't updated mini-GCF for the last 2 years. I will try to update them this fall.

OMG, forgot to update it here.
The new version is out. Please, check one and if it crashes (and there is exception window of MadExcept), please, send the report - it will be easier for me to maintain ;) .
