some notes..
About the Outlaws crack:

Works good (but not tested on lan)
Have archivements (but they r not saved)
The nick name must be changed each map load
Crash on exit
dont create that client stuff on bin folder

About Stryder's Crack:
Stryder's works like a charm
dont have archivements (yet, hopefuly next release will have it, and will be saved on exit)
the nick name is permanent
crash on exit too (but not allways, at least for me)
It creates that client files on bin folder, but isnt a big deal.


Witch crack I choose?..
Stryder's one, like a said in his topic, I never had any problems with it.

Just upgraded my hardware and formated from xp to windows 7

Ran inigen + reg fix again and the game worked well...



Don't know why some get CTD still, Im using a retail copy, steam not running and patch 2006 with stryder crack...

If we just could find the pattern... No mather what OS i use or hardware it works perfect...


32 bit not 64...

My firends can play the game perfect too without CTD and they got
Windows 7 64
Windows 7 32
Vista 32
and xp 32

the've used same method as me...

When i forgot to run the regfiles all clients who joined my server got CTD after joining and played for 10secs... Solved with the reg file...

When Steam was running game CTD after intro movie, closeing steam solved this problem...

I never used any Reg files to play with Stryder's Crack, only on the beguining, with other buged cracks, bur cleaned my registry after 1st Stryder release.
I host a lan game here, and any one can joing, RevUmu buged clients, Strider Clients, Old Stryder Clients... and I play it without any kind of "tools" like Garena, Hamachi ore Thungle...

Yeah, Outlaws crack was nuked, then they released a "repack" that also was nuked, then they released a note confirming that the repack works fine over razor clean install (without applying the razor crack). This repack is reported to be working for the majority of people, even if it's not perfect as it seemed at first. But even if CEG was removed 100% as they claim (it doesn't sound like it was a 100% removal given it was nuked) it still doesn't support a lot of things that stryder patch does, like name setting and on-line possibilities.

So stryder shouldn't drop it's loader development yet as CEG still wasn't 100% defeated. Maybe a combination of stryder loader with outlaws client.dll (repack version) can provide even better results.

I'm using illpillow's v2007 client also, but its not working with stryder fix...
I crash to desktop,without error, when map loads to almost 100%.

EDIT: ok, it seems that I am able to connect to cracked servers and the game works fine, its just starting a singleplayer match that I crash at the map loading screen. Does the loader need updating? or is this a problem on my side?

You using new v2007 client.dll or an earlier version?

yeah man... I've those reg fixes from earlier... shouldn't need regfixes for Stryder's fix tho.
Funny thing, is connecting to and playing on setti servers through the serverbrowser works fine
BUT when starting a Single Player match through the main menu it crashes on maploading screen.

process monitor shows the stryder.ini right before the thread exit...
So i was guessing this is CEG at work again..

You can make a steamID based on pc-hardware like revemu? I have some problem in server administration (with sourcemod) because my steamID change!

Could you add support for the latest RevEmu? The executable posted for L4D1 in the RevEmu FAQ works with L4D2 as well, but the loader cannot be used because it crashes before reaching the main menu.

Edit, another thing:

The 2.0.0.7 client.dll file from my steam version is the same size as the one posted in the 2.0.0.4 loader package. The serial number of the digital signature is the same as well. It's date is Dec. 5. 2009 which is when 2.0.0.4 was released if we take timezones into account. So most likely it has not been changed and the game (v2.0.0.7) works fine with the client.dll posted here.
