I don't get how to use TINcft with an acf file...
How do I open it? Via the program or config?
And if it's the config, how do I edit it right?
Do I need manifest file?
Help?
Trying to get the update for chivalry:

How to Update Games with TINctf:

  1. Somewhere on the hard drive create a folder for the games that you will update from time to time. (example: D:\Games\Games Related to TINctf\ )
    After that's done you need to create the following folders inside:
      ...\depotcache
      ...\steamapps
      ...\steamapps\common
      ...\steamapps\downloading
  2. Download the last version of TINctf and extract it to any directory.
  3. Open TINcft.ini with Notepad.
  4. Now you need to edit TINcft.ini so that TINctf will be able to work with the folders you created:
    • Entry syntax:
      Spoiler
      • [folders/<info about this entry>]
          Note: Just set any name you want.
        appinfo = <full path to TINctf root folder + appinfo.vdf at the end>
        depotcache = <full path to the depotcache folder that you created>
        steamapps = <full path to the steamapps folder that you created>
        common = <full path to the common folder that you created>
        downloading = <full path to the downloading folder that you created>
        output = <full path to the output folder>

          Note: type in . (a dot) if you don't need this.

        [account]
        username = <your Steam username>

        password = <your Steam password>
    • Entry example:
      Spoiler
      • [folders/Games Related to TINctf]
        appinfo = D:\Games\Games Related to TINctf\tinctfv26661206\appinfo.vdf
        depotcache = D:\Games\Games Related to TINctf\depotcache
        steamapps = D:\Games\Games Related to TINctf\steamapps
        common = D:\Games\Games Related to TINctf\steamapps\common
        downloading = D:\Games\Games Related to TINctf\steamapps\downloading
        output = .

        [account]
        username = Hidraga
        password = IwontTellYouMyPassLol
    Save the file when you're done.
  5. Put the update file (with the *.update file extension) to TINctf root folder.
  6. Move the game files to the proper folders:
    • Move the game folder to ...\steamapps\common\<original Steam folder name>. You can check what the name should on rinru.us.to.
    • Move the appmanifest_<app id>.acf file to ...\steamapps.
    • Move files with the *.manifest extension to ...\depotcache.
  7. Launch TINctf with .../<TINctf root folder>/TINcft.exe. Before doing this you should either minimize or move from the center of the screen all the other windows or you just you won't see the first TINctf window.
  8. Choose the entry you created before.
  9. Choose your game from the list.
  10. Click Validate and wait until it's done.
  11. Click Apply update, type in the full name + extension of the update file, click Load update and wait until it's done. It will look like the program hanged, but it's just loading, so just wait.

Crash/recognition fix:

Just change the appinfo.vdf path to TINcft folder and let TINcft download it. you need to enter your steam user & pass in TINcft.ini with steam guard turned off. then go to config menu and update appinfo.

About appinfo.vdf:
Sometimes games use this file to unlock DLC's. If you're using Steam/GreenLuma/SmartSteam to launch the game, then move this file (it will be in the TINctf root folder) to .../Steam/appcache. For example Orcs Must Die!2 uses this file to check if you have the original game. You need the original to play the Classic Levels DLC in Orcs Must Die!2. As an altrenative you can just copy someones appinfo.vdf file with proper information to .../Steam/appcache.

TINcft refuse to load these manifest files:
FileSystemException (0) : Chunks are not identical

Post subject:  Re: TINcft 20120907

that sucks ... it means that 2 chunks have the same SHA but a different CRC or size ...
this is "not supposed to happen" or my code fails ...

can u pm me the .acf and all the .manifest of that game ?

Post subject:  Re: TINcft 20130409 - win32 / linux

Thanks for that.

If you need some report about the tool

Validated two games with no problems (no errors from the program or files to corrupt)
Created updates on those two games again no problems.

app info and cdr downloads fine
On first look it seems everything is working fine.

Finally a new release. :yum-yum:
It's nice to see shared depots are supported. problematic manifests are working now.
it seems "download update" button doesn't download anything, so I guess it's not finished yet.
is it possible to sort the acf games by name?

Post subject:  Re: TINcft 20130409 - win32 / linux

Did you mean downloading of app content and/or manifests? Because .acf itself is not downloaded, it is created locally based on AppInfo, PackageInfo and list of user licenses.

BTW, there is a significant problem with TINcft - "up-to-date" status it displays is not accurate at all even with up to date appinfo.vdf. Here is an example: user has an .acf that was valid at some point. Time passed and a new depot (for ex. free DLC or patch files) was added to that app by developers/Valve - the rest of .manifests remained the same. TINcft will "think" that .acf is still up-to-date (none of the existing manifests was updated) but in reality the .acf is now missing a new depot (in the MountedDepots list) and so is outdated.

So the only correct way to claim .acf is up to date is to check "MountedDepots" list based on the packages (licenses) user owns/wants to own (I am currently implementing such check in my ACF Verifier 2.0 tool).
