fixed demde's issue. it occured only on windows 8 for acf with shared depots. i was accessing a deleted object instead of a newly allocated one ... don't know why it works on win 7, i guess the new allocated object has the same adress as the deleted one on win 7 but not on win 8 ... will be part of next release too.

hey guys trying to use TinCFT for the first time i can see my games and everything but when i try to update the cdr it just says please wait forever... any ideas whats wrong?
edit - tried again but now it won't launch at all just sits in task manager using 20% of my cpu... any help would be greatly appreciated
another edit - thanks anyway guys i think i sorted the problem. seemed i had a corrupted CDR. maybe a check could be added to see if the CDR is valid or not. i have a problem though still where i get a "value not found: content" error for all games

You also need to update appinfo.vdf via "config" menu from the program. For that to work you must also enter your steam username-password-steamguardkey (or disable it for the time when you update) into TINcft.ini

CDR check should take a "few" seconds only . about appinfo.vdf, you can also download info from tin cft as explained, or configure to use the one in steam\appcache\appinfo.vdf in tincft.ini

Tried it now and it doesn't crash the app, but it does not detect the appinfo's at all. All .acf's say unknown. Maybe its some bug with the beta version you gave me that fixed Windows 8 crash with shared depots?

I released a new version, please don't forget to backup your apps before using it ! thank you for beta testing all this, especialy the downloader.
btw, i guess i wont get many replies, but if someone has access to a password protected branch of an acf game ... i would be intrested to know how to implement it ...

Thanks for the new version! I had a chance to test this earlier because of my Win8 issues with shared depots SteamCooker You may want to fix the app version in the window it still shows old one for me. How this downloading thing should work? Tried CS:GO in SteamSandbox (without game files) and it started to download the whole game? What should be its purpose? I already have .acf .manifest's for the game i have from steam itself. Maybe for old builds or something.

oops, i forgot about that version number i'll fix it in a few minutes ... the "download" first update the manifest (if a new one is available) then download the missing content. that "steam sandbox" thing might be confusing sorry .... it was just a way to show how to configure more than 1 steam installation folder inthe .ini. that you can just add a -
- [folders/put your name here]
- appinfo = TINcft.appinfo.vdf
- depotcache = C:\folder\depotcache
- steamapps = C:\folder\steamapps
- common = C:\folder\steamapps\common
- downloading = C:\folder\steamapps\downloading
- output = .
-
and so can choose it on startup. but each installation folder is independant from each other. so it would redownload the full game.
