Oh right Steam006 is. How do they require much more space than before? I find it opposite 'cause there were GCFs that were shared for many games.

steamCooker It's NO good idea to use the buildID as an outdate-indicator. Now I have hundreds games listed as outdated, because their corresponding acf's have no buildID or just set to zero. But I see, NO manifest files of them are outdated. That's confusing me. So, everyday I have to click on every those acf to see if it's manifests are really outdated? Or in case the buildID wasn't change (but the manifests), so I wouldn't realize it (and must click on ALL games to be sure)?
I think, it's better to go to old behavior with the date of newest depot. Because the date/version of depots are more important (like ncf's) than the irrelevant buildID of an acf.
Also I wish a function to download only missing manifest files (but then must be the corresponding acf listed).

I have to agree with it. It's problematic, that if a game uses more manifests and it can be updated with cracked Steam, Steam does not update all of the manifests, but it sets the latest buildID so TINcft will say it's updated, although it's not (example: CS:GO Common manifest can be updated with cracked Steam). Also I believe, that not every game uses buildID (example: 7 Wonders: The Treasures of Seven - no information in branches section, but this could be a database error). Update status of these games is Unknown in TINcft. I think it's a good idea to also edit buildIDs in .acf files with TINcft updates, but I would keep this number as a side information only. Nonetheless, thanks for the XP compatible version.

isn't this a temporary problem ? steam should now set thoses build id properly so in future it would be easier to work than dates. also dates are not existing in the appinfo cache, only the build ID, so there would be no way to know what's the current version before downloading it

steamCooker I think, you make an error in reasoning: the acf's are ABSOLUTLY IRRELEVANT!!! You should keep your mind to the manifest/cache/depots! Because these have the relevant informations about the games contents (NOT and NEVER the acf's!). Right?!
I could edit an acf for you easily and you think it's updated ...

yeah i agree, but the acf name is "app manifest" that means that it should describe what's in the depot / content, not just be random edited values. people shoudln't modify it manually... if they do, they should understand the consequences acf bad side is that it is a text file ... anyway, i reversed that in tincft as i can't stop people from doing it i still use/update the buildid but i show the update status based on the latest depot date (which can be wrong too btw, people could just edit the acf and change the depot manifest version for another one not corresponding to the content files) -- Edit -- shoalraft63409-78, sorry i forgot to reply to your question. is there a ; in your pass ? my .ini parser uses this as a comment marker ....

Hi steamCooker, first of all, Kudos for this fine tool, I really appreciate you still working on Steam content server tools. I believe I found a bug though trying to download TF2 (App 440) which I purchased before it became Free-To-Play.
TINcft will not download TF2 depot 440 (gid 1118032470228587934) named "TF2 Client" in app info. I set the Console to DEBUG level, I get this error after the 'Verifying licenses' step: "ERROR - Exception (0) : Unknown serialized format". Then TINcft notifies me that the download failed.
However, I can successfully download this depot 440 using the same Steam account with Valve's steamcmd. All other TF2 related depots also download fine in TINcft.
Can you please have a look at it? Cheers and keep at it!

Is there a way to claim ownership from a .manifest file? I was trying to complete the files within the .acf file, some of the files have this at the side of them which says "(incomplete)". If I can't claim ownership of it, are there any other solutions for this? Log: - 2013/08/06 23:49:31 | ERROR | Error with tool (downloader) : Failed to retrieve app ownership ticket for depot 42681 : 15

hey steamcooker, just loaded up tincft today and i get an error tryin to update appinfo the log file says: Quote: 2013/08/07 17:54:02 | INFO | Connecting to CM server (MYUSERNAME) 2013/08/07 17:54:03 | ERROR | Logon failed : sentry file required (63) 2013/08/07 17:54:03 | ERROR | CM Client - Error : ConnectionResetByPeerException (0) : Connection reset by peer 2013/08/07 17:54:03 | INFO | Connection failed
any ideas how to fix it? --edit-- solved that problem, steamguard had been re-enabled some how. but now when i try to update i get an unhandled exception error right after i click update. i also tried an older version i had and the error was different i got update failed and in the log file it says "error retrieving file handle" --edit-- well i'm an idiot, seems I asked this exact question before. sorry for bothering anyone
