Yes... the original purpose is to play the game we like with our trusted friends and family whilst on vacation without any or unstable internet connection. So, giving freedom to change steam id manually shouldn't be a problem in trusted environment. Snak3dks If you afraid others playing around with your savegame files, perhaps putting out the emulator to your place (eg your desktop) is best solution. Create another windows account for others, so they won't be able to access your savegame file. |

I think he means saves with SSE are stored on your computer that's why you may not need so much security. Syahmixp will certainly update sse including the possibility to set yourself a specific ID so I guess it will the best solution. Yup, generation by SSE will be great! Maybe I don`t understand something..but if I use "Static" - I always get random SteamIDs. So I need, that every player on my server has unique steamID, that nobody couldn`t use the same steamID (its working, if players has static ip, but not all has it). |

Snak3dks Generating unique steam ID like the way LumaEmu or revEmu do is possible to be implemented in SSE, but it includes calling spesific Windows APIs that requires admin rights to get it (as syahmixp stated "Unique id like HDD will require elevated permission to dig through system just to find that HDD id." - if he intended to use HDD id). But it would break the idea to be able freely change steam id since some games read ID for its saves - in case if someone play a game in single player using other steam_api emu (which use its own ID), then he wants to use that save with SSE with that ID (generated using that emu). Simple word: Why don't you just use LumaEmu or revEmu instead? Don't they work with 7 Days to Die too? |

I tried creating saves with some games like bioshock2, Brutal Legend and Casltestorm (wich create a new save folder/file for each steamID) tweaking between static-random-personnaname presets, and loaded them on another computer, and it worked like this: Random: doesn't even remember it's been launched some seconds ago on the same computer for some games and others say can't load from different steamID each time. Static: always the same, anywhere, anygame, anytime or it never changed under my eyes, even switching between static and random, loads save from one computer to another. PersonaName: loads from one computer to another only if same name set Most of games don't care different steamID, I saw this with some specific game As I never tried IP preset and as it's named I guess it would be usefull for a private vpn where IPs are fixed for life because it means always the same ID but as I use SSE in true lan IPs won't last so I'm more on personaname and I don't really care about would someone do with my save progress. |

Launching with them, I`m getting something like this: "Steam account is offline. Login, Quit.". |

Xymox, its cool working the insect thingy UPDATE!!!! Contagion Update 11 is working. I can connect and play with it with SSE i managed to do it on lan, it requires C-Class(So you have to use sv_cheats 1 and sv_lan 1 of you will need a cclass LAN network), but there is a small trick.... you HAVE to use console connect command.... like : connect 192.168.1.100:27015! If u use browser and/or quick connect, it WONT work... Dedicated server - I cannot manage to even start it... so only listen server works(Hosting) what links are given by xymox use the update 11 full, and DONT crack it!!!(Original files) Use this setup or it wont work correctly: http://www.mediafire.com/download/qggqp ... Hello everyone, This is a new version with updated steamworks interface. Additionally you will be able to start the game directly without using launcher by replacing steam_api.dll with SmartSteamEmu.dll, just rename the file. This release include x64 build, I don't own any x64 games, so test this yourself. Also as requested, now you can manually specify the steam id Example:

The steam_api.dll emulation isn't complete, so there will be games that may work fine using original steam_api.dll with launcher but not with steam_api.dll emulation mode. |
