that game seems to have a custom drm => you can't play it on tin cft, i'll anyway implement the message and report the drm error in the server logs

this works really well with xampp PHP, How possible do you think profile pictures are? Sorry to randomly burst in out of nowhere it's been ages since I've been on.

Edit: actually not sure why but ever since using the newer versions of tin, This is happening when trying to run it, I get the same IOException when using pics too.
Windows 8

Edit 2: strange the folder seemed immune to readme changes, Moving all contents to a new folder fix it, Never had this problem with windows 7 only damn 8.

Edit 3:
The latest steam client doesn't work? when the client tries to update it says "Error while sending requested client package tenfoot_ambientsounds_all.zip.12963b9dbc3d331e26559cc2d323ca0661942b6b"

next version will allow you to add static files for the web server.
about that io error ... well i don't know :( never see that... hdd/file system issue ?
i'll try latest client a bit later

The io error is because windows 8 sucks, I moved all the contents out of the folder that was apparently not read only and into a new folder, The problem was no matter what I did windows didn't want to make the folder writable.


Highlighted because it's my main question the rest above is me rambling.
And i really want to use tinserver but the new client is stopping me, Do you or anyone here have a copy of the previous update stored in the "ClientUpdates" folder?


p.s static files sound great, So does that mean it will save the images from steam and reload them from tin? Or would we manually have to do that?

you don't need an old client, but a tinserver update.
they introduced the concept of branches in client updates, easy to fix, i'll release smth soon

Alright, Thanks the whole reason I'm eager to get this working is because most of my steam games work with it and it is 100x better than steams offline mode.

Edit: Stupid me, I used the old client by mistake.

Edit2: Wait with the new DNS feature does that mean we can make a website and have it show in steam?! Nice work on the new update i freaking love it.

yes and no, all hosts that contains steampowered.com, steamgames.com, steamcommunity.com, steamstatic.com, will be redirected to tinserver's serverIp, for other hosts , it will check the dns part.

but it was already possible to do this before using your windows system32/etc/hosts file

then if you redirect to tinserver's ip, you can either use static files from SteamWeb folder, or code a plugin that will expose a dynamic site for a specific hostname (assuming that the "host" http header is properly valued by the browser).

It is a good update and i love these new features however its spamming the console with


ERROR : Client minidump uploaded

and it won't go past the updating steam information window.

strange , what error is it reporting ? did u enabled thread dumps or exceptions stack traces on client side ? it sometimes makes this
you can try enable console on client side to see what process are started and are crashing
