Legit clients should play on legit servers :)

Actually the problem is - server key generated by server is checked by client (using Valve's servers). Obviously that cracked server's key is bogus and rejected by steam server. I could hardcode good one there (as there's no possibility of generating valid keys.. same sad story as with tickets). But that would be pretty temporary solution and I dont feel that its really needed.

Anyone know if there is a linux crack available, which allows both non-steam AND legit client to connect?
There is one for win32, so why not for linux?

donno. it seems like a great waste of cpu doing that.

No, we have to start working on a linux version then. I guess we need some help on the way, to see what approach one would use. Maybe maddoxx could help us out with ideas.

The problem with online steam clients is that they need a correctly generated key from the server, to be allowed to connect when they verifying with the steam servers. As hcupa pointed out in this thread.

Could you let the serv But only then.er act like a legit server as far as possible, but when a offline, or cracked client connects, it lets it on and generates that random steam_id, as hcupas .so is doing atm?

Come on, lets do this..

thanx maddoxx it works m8 :)

what client are you using?

I'm using Steam-down P7 and I have a dedicated linux CSS server but I can only connect when I have an steam ticket?

When I'm using the file (libsteamvalidateuseridtickets_i486.so) I got the same error as someone others...

What can I do to play on that dedicated linux server?
Thx
