I really doubt they'll ban you if you just buy the game with a clean account, even if it was logged into with the same IP address. I tell you, my university has a STATIC IP and I play there alllllll the time... now, if somebody uses a illigitimate account from the university, why should I pay for their problems? I bought the game, and I do not fuck with it, since it works OK by me. Now, I may get another ISP, but that's something different alltogether.
No need to be "alarmist" about this. I think that if you buy it and it is legitimate, why should they have a problem? I bought mine right from the steam website. They're not going to ban me because I can just file a claim with the credit card company. Plus, I haven't done anything wrong or illegal whatsoever. Many people I know play this game, and I could question the legitimacy, but it's not up to me to pay. I already did buy the game...

hiroshi21 wrote: uh..ok.. um.. I think all of that change your ISP, reformat your HD.. is Bullshit, reason is? I run them both, accounts I payed for, and accounts I didnt.. I can play fine on my store baught account. CZ and CS 1.6 and all that. I intend to buy the game when I buy a new video card, to me HL2 is that good. Company is shit, the people who worked alot to build the game deserve it, so Im buying it. However, if they do ban my legit, everything from my original HL1 copy to HL2 all in one bang..well..heh..I smell class action lawsuit. I bought the game, I have a right to play it via steam, the way it was meant to be. So, if you Valve thinks they are going to ban via IP, well, then can kiss my white irish ass, cause I'll fuck em over so bad with a good old class action. To be honest guys, don't worry, if it happens, be pissed then, untill then, don't worry. Valve cannot legally ban accounts with legal keys only on it. My legal account did not touch steam-down or anything emporio, so I'll be pissed if they ban my legal account with over 200 bucks of software on it.
I agree with you.
I have 2 accounts too.My legit 1.6 and CZ accounts and the other for CSS. I don´t have any kind of problem.

my ISP is the biggest russian ADSL operator.. so it has about 100.000 clients and most of them use the legal css. ( btw in january every new client of my isp got hl2-dvd for free! )
so let's say that a half of all css players use the legit version and others use the cracked one. it's impossible for valve to start banning with ip. that's for shure.

Ok time to hear this from someone who is more failiar
I have legal everything
I have used every exploit (of course useing seperate installations and accounts.
I have not been banned yet (from Steam, however I was from Steam Forums for no reason???)
It could happen but then again it might not
I think the difference is that I never used the same installatiion for more than 1 account. Even though it took approx 25 GB to install 3 seperate installations for seperate accounts, I STILL HAVE MY LEGAL ACCOUNT TODAY.
I think that made a difference.
BTW
I was banned from SteamPowered forums and I have no idea why I would be banned. Unless they did a checklist of the usernames here and compared them to the userlist on the official forums and banned the names that matched. Think that is a possibility?????

I have legit HL1, bought for $5US second hand before Steam came out, and I have a cheat for it that does everything (if I can work uot how to frigging use the speedhack! Got it first time by accident and can't get it on again!).
So until someone gets CS:S and HL2DM going I'm just going to keep ruining everyone elses games in CS:1.6, DOD, HL1DM etc....
That way no-one can enjoy it.
Stick that in your ass and smoke it VALVe.
nugg0t
PS: Don't even think of making lamer threats of banning me, the cheat is custom made by a cheat maker. I gave him the specs and told him if he set the vecs right and had it totally different to other cheats (so it wont be detected) I'd show him how to get HL2 free.
He came up with the goods (almost 5 months now, still not banned) and so did I.
Cheats are detected by Valve finding them online, then putting their configurations into VAC to be detected.
As this cheat is not available to the public, it can't be detected by VAC.
See my signature for a look at what havoc it causes.
It takes me about 5-10 mins to empty a server of all players.

what the fuck did that have to do with anything???????
nice, but totally off the fucking subject
and something else is already evident:
even though I posted a good statement that could possibly eliminate concerns of ip bullshit, no body is gonna fucking read it and theyll be asking the same stupid ass questions and posting the same stupid ass comments next week. this is getting so fucking pointless
why are still wasting our fucking breath on this shit???
dipshits ask for info, you give them info, then they dont listen to a fucking word you told them then they turn around and start running their fucking mouths again.......
