Alright I saw a lot of people getting invalid key errors at just 1 bar so I decided to re-edit the tutorial so it includes info on that.

it onyl works depending on your luck
it works for a while but then most likely valve will over write it again
so thats why u keep a copy of a client registry but then theyll already have detected it so its useless once u detect it

stupid question...what if u dont have the games already downloaded from steam?

is there an alternative method? i'd hate to download 4 gigs.

Well, it doesn't work i restart steam/close steam from the menu and the games just disappear it doesn't show any games on my list
doesn't even prompt the purchase reciept

This "fix" won't work. Most people will recieve the invalid cd key error..after that, all their games that they have downloaded will be gone because their clientregistry.blob is messed up by this "fix"

I suggest ignoring this post, it will save you tons of trouble
