hi, i have this question: how i unlock the spanish gcf file? because when i try to extract say this in all files: File contains no physical data to write.)
how unlock the gcf?
because i want to play in my languaje

As far as I am aware it should be the same as the english instuctions (follow upto step 10 and then copy them into a cracked steam client's steamapps directory) it sounds like you have a corrupt GCF at the moment.



Download a cracked steam client. Most include them.
Either that or download a cracked steam client and use it to download them... either works

no, no, no, you dont understend, i have the game and works fine etc.
but i want it in my languaje, spanish, WITH VOICES IN SPANISH, so i have the spanish gcf and i cant extract because its locked, can u help me? only i want extract it, all in spanish .

I'm afraid you'll have to find the spanish decryption key, I don't know it. And sorry for the slow reply.

because i dont have conection to internet, and i wish have episode one...i supose with the all pre requisits, and read the guide i have all de ep1.

oh yeah...if I use Non steam down, and gcf's work ep one?

is very fine and for instance does not need last step

hello everyone,
I know it has been long since the post was active but it is now that i came across such a method of collecting game files and playing. so out of curiosity i wanted to try it, but was unable to find certain files out of the requirement. So i was wondering if you guys could help me out in this matter.
I have these files( i have copied them from partially copied orange box), which are:
-- source sounds.gcf
-- source materials.gcf
-- source models.gcf
-- base source engine 2.gcf
-- episode 1 shared.gcf
-- half-life 2 episode one.gcf( i had to download)

I Would like your help in the following matter:
1. Please tell me what this process is all about. What am i trying to achieve here.
2. I couldn't find the following files anywhere:
-- Half-Life 2 Episode One - Patcher (v2 - dormine's)
-- Offline Patch Files A combination of the files from .Blizzard and REVOLUTiON( have no idea what these are)

I've been looking for a solution for the last few days: I made my own standalone for Half-Life 2 Deathmatch & Counter-Strike Source (together)... I also coded a little launcher app which can connect the game to my server/start the game normally...(Visual C#). Anyway, I created an ISO (Folder2Iso, mkisofs.exe) and tried to run the game... hl2.exe shows up for a second in task manager and then disappears as if it never was there... It doesnt matter if I use [E:\hl2.exe -game hl2mp] or my launcher...It works fine if i copy the files off to a folder on a hard drive. It maybe to do with the fact that the DVD read only, but it seems you have got it to work, can you help please?! (It also worked from a pen drive)...Any fix for read-only?

edit: didn't mention it but im trying to create a Live DVD and i mounted the ISO with daemon tools.

I have all the GCfs(OF HALf Life 2 Episde1 ) like Shared, Hal Life Episode one.GCF, SOunds, Materials, etc Total 6 GCFs file all in SteamAPPs folder and Verified Integreity, The shared GCFs and Half Life 2 Episode One GCf I have dowloaded from Mediafire,And through Crack steam Clent (It showed downloading 42 % Firstly on Steam), Than It started to download remaing and as I have chosen from the Dialog BOx "Launch the Game as soon it is ready" the Game loaded when it reached 66 Percent update , but after the Main menu Screen it Hanged and now after I have downloaded 100 % and its ready When I launc h the game through Cracked steam it again Hangs in the Main Menu.SO please help me to find a way, I would Like to make a LIVE DVD, But I cant get the Dormine's Patch and EP1FIXfiles to download as the sites dont have now, SO please tell me where I can Get the EPFIxFiles and LAtest Dormines PAtcher.

Please Help
