I didn't try downloading it with a cracked steam
Cracked steam clients make me nervous, because I don't know exactly how they fool the Steam server into thinking it's legit.

It's not a bug as much as a workaround because I'm too lazy to do it the proper way. The problem is that my patcher is based on checksumming whole 8K blocks, and whenever a file ends somewhere inside a block, the unused data in that block differs from system to system. So I just include the last block of every file, just in case. I guess you have another, more elegant workaround instead.
