Sorry :D but not quite.
I understand about -steamlocal - game start the steam engine itself, but i don't understand HOW
Quote:
the engine is already started
.
If example i have't official steam client and never launch game through SteamEmu - if follow my logic :roll: based on your explanation start game with parameter -steam will crash the game because in system have not nt object \\.\Steam something and game can't create this object as he create this when launch with -steamlocal :?:

PS
Sorry for my stupidity :oops: and offtop :)

-steam: the game use the global steam engine ( the nt object \\.\Steam something ).

What mean own steam engine and global steam engine??? :D

retrying:
-steamlocal: the game understand that it should start the steam engine itself
-steam: the engine is already started, accessible with a nt shared object.

Clear ?

you could always just look at the steam filesystem source code ? lol ;)

edit: also dont use steamlocal unless steam has its files extracted
and available or it will crash when adding the command to steam.exe so that should give ya hint as to what its for..
   // If we're not running Steam in local mode use the current working directory
   // as the mount point for the STEAM VFS
   if ( !CommandLine()->CheckParm("-steamlocal") && !STEAM_Mount(NULL) )
   {
      const char *szErrorMsgFormat = "STEAM VFS failed to mount: %s";
      const int nErrorMsgBufSize = 1024;
      char szErrorMsg[nErrorMsgBufSize+sizeof(szErrorMsgFormat)];
      char szSteamErrorMsg[nErrorMsgBufSize];
      STEAM_strerror(NULL, szSteamErrorMsg, sizeof(szSteamErrorMsg));
      sprintf(szErrorMsg, szErrorMsgFormat, szSteamErrorMsg);
      ::MessageBox(NULL, szErrorMsg, "Half-Life Steam Filesystem Error", MB_OK);
      m_bSteamInitialized = false;
      retval = INIT_FAILED;
   }

If hCUPa agree maybe rename this thread to
General SteamEmu thread - sound cool :)

I was tested 10 Offline games with SteamEmu3.05b and can say - hCUPa is mighty magnificent and simply good man :D
When i many times launch and play in this games i have not problem at all.
Every game i tested about 1 hour, of course this is not mean what a problems cannot appear but STABILITY current steamemu - is fact.

And so this game is:

-=Game based on source engine=-
Half-Life 2
Half-Life 2 Episode One
Half-Life 2 Lost Coast
Half-Life 2 DeathMatch
Half-Life DeathMatch Source
Half-Life Source

-=Game based on other Valve engine=-
Half-Life
Half-Life Blue Shift
Opposing Force
Team Fortress Classic

PS
All games launch with parameter -steam because non Source games didn't start with -steamlocal and launch only when i install official steam client, but this problem not show with Source games,

Here my steamemu.ini and ateamapps.ini:

If i don't have Steam or other launcher (only the GCFs), i can't use the emulator? I have to extract the shit needed from GCFs by manually (GCF Scape) ?

Yep, if you dont have any launcher you have to extract local files manually. But its easier to get SteamBuster or other launcher that can do it for you.
