When trying RO, no matter which loader used, it's not possible to connect to each other. Always "connection failed" message appears. Anybody who has a solution for it. Thanks in advance, |

I'm having a similar problem, I can see all the internet based cracked/legit servers & when I try to join them, I get unable to connect to error. I'm using a DSL Router connected via Network port running XP Pro SP2 with NAV2007 ( firewall ON ) Model BeeTel 220BX, should I define a NAT rule for port forwarding in the router? All other Steam games connect to internet fine I can play CSS, HL2DM, etc. What you guys think...good site for port configs on routers : www.portforward.com |

Get SteamEmu, Tiny Launcher from this forum, and Steam from SteamPowered.com. Install Steam. Extract from SteamEmu.rar: SteamLauncher.exe, steamemu.ini and ClientRegistry.blob. Put them 3 into Steam folder. [Overwrite] Extract from Tiny Launcher: steam.dll Put that 1 into Steam folder. [Overwrite] Run from now on SteamLauncher.exe. Should be working. Note: If SteamLauncher.exe says that you need another ClientRegistry.blob, then get one from this forum from one of these Steam Cracking Utilities: DynPatch.v2-cIntX.rar or UnDeadPatch.2.01-SASiO.rar or SBReV_1999.7z [AKA Steam Buster]. Don't worry about routering - the problem is inside the steam.dll and steam.exe with Red Orchestra. RO: Ostfront modders are people like us. Before they made their RO for UT 2004 and got famous, they were underground-literate - so their stuff is harder to crack. It's like fighting each other. They'll find this and figure out a way to keep us from playing LAN again. Until then, exploit this. |

"Connection Failed" "Connection Failed" ...error when I'm trying to join my friend his server. We both opened the ports on our routers and we both use the same PROViSiON release of Red Orchestra. Could you help us please? |

Ah there it is. The PROViSiON release is your problem. You need a clean Red Orchestra release. Use the Undead or DynX Patch release to crack steam and download it from steam. Now to do this, you need a clean install of Steam. After that, you use the Undead or DynX [obtainable from this forum]. Download RO: Ostfront [sometimes it tells you download servers are busy, but it will eventually let you dl it] THEN do those steps that I listed eariler for LAN play. I spent 12 hours trying to get LAN to work too. I manage an Internet Cafe and it's crucial for me to have RO on LAN. It's the hottest thing right now. I'm gonna test right now if it's even internet playable. Info Update: Steam will do it's best to replace Steam.dll from Tiny Launcher with it's own. Every time Steam runs when windows starts, or is activated through itself and NOT the SteamLauncher.exe [From SteamEmu], it will update the Steam.dll - which is bad for RO LAN play. Keep a Tiny Launcher Steam.dll version somewhere handy so you can always replace the updated Steam.dll - I just noticed this. |

Nope. Copying steam.dll to RO/system folder doesn't work. RO is still crafty enough to look if Steam account is connected via steam client, therefore if you were to do as you said, you'd get access to the multiplayer tab - but you'd go no further. I already tried. I would love not to have to do anything with Steam - but the way I specified earlier is the ONLY known way [without xfire or what the guy said] to play RO on LAN. As for Internet: I tried joining internet servers recently, but it just said connecting - for 5 minutes. Still don't know if it's capable of connecting. |

Thanks again, Im going to try it out The original steam wants to replace the steam.dll of Tiny Launcher right? Well, you can stop the original steam from opening at windows start with Start -> Run -> msconfig -> Startup -> Uncheck steam |

Update: The same thing I did with my RO: Ostfront home LAN, I tried at my internet cafe - It didn't work.. This might mean I did something by accident that got it to work, on top of what I said earlier. I'm not gonna jump to conclusions yet, but whoever tries my method [Tiny Launcher's steam.dll + SteamEmu .exe and .ini file and ClientRegistry.blob from Steam Buster or elsewhere], needs to tell me if it worked. I sure hope to hell that the RO or Valve guys [that lead to this forum being suspended eariler], didn't bother cs.rin.ru ALSO because of my new-found way to play RO on LAN and perhaps Internet. That could be another reason why Steam updated recently, AND why I can't play LAN at my internet cafe. I'm crossing fingers here. I'm working there today, so I'll try to get it to work. If it didn't, I will just take the Steam Setup I have from my home LAN right now, WinRaR it, and post it here - but I need a reply first. since99 wrote: Lan/Hamachi works thanks to VR48! That beind said by since99, I'll take into consideration that I fu__ed up something at my cafe - since it works for him. I could swear I did everything right though - goddamit. Oh and you're welcome. Godspeed. GodGamer wrote: The original steam wants to replace the steam.dll of Tiny Launcher right? Yea I know - it's meant for those that are reading this forum and are not aware of this feature. ... But they wouldn't be smart enough to be here in the first place. .. Heh. |

wow thank you VR48 ! the conclusion is, we HAVE to start RO with (cracked)steamclient (good "howto" from VR48) there is NO possible way to make RO work as a standalone game ! (like putting a cracked Steam.dll into the /System folder of RO or something else) now it works like a charm. LAN works with or without an Internet connection. now anyone can write a clean "howto" for the Stickies. the "playing RO in a LAN"-problem is solved! atleast thank you again VR48 =) |

VR48, I recognize your writing style. Are you that guy who wrote about Valve's bad cyber cafe service and MaddoxX quoted you? Just an idea |

VR48 wrote: But they wouldn't be smart enough to be here in the first place. .. Heh. Can't deny that... But anyway I received this error when I joined my friend his server: Quote:
What we did was: 1. A clean install of steam, let it update, logged in, then we closed steam. 2. Undeadpatched it, started steam, logged in, downloaded Red Orchestra, logged off 3. We took the steamapps folder to the Desktop and uninstalled steam, then we made a clean install. 4. We let steam run to update, logged in, logged out. Then we extracted SteamEmu.rar: SteamLauncher.exe, steamemu.ini ( Steamemu.rar has no ClientRegistry.blob. ) SBReV_1997.7z: ClientRegistry.blob Latest Tiny Launcher: steam.dll] to the steam folder. 5. We put the steamapps folder back to the steam folder and we logged back into steam. We could run RO, hamachi was also on, but when we tried to connect to each other's server that error shows up. PS: We had to update steam, steaminstall only gives steam.exe and some other files to the folder. Is the combination wrong? Thanks alot we're all awaiting your answer here... |
