Yeah, I've tried it several times: "invalid STEAM logon" or something is the answer. Till a few weeks ago it worked fine and then they switched to this strange system. I dont know how but they say that its possible to play with non-Steam versions as you can see in the instructions.

Strange group... it's a mixture of non- and steam version. My opinion: This is dumb! You still have to update your non-steam release, but install Steam to play it. Why didn't they just patch steam? Why didn't they stay with their non-steam release?

Or they just couldn't create an emulator and that's why they use Steam. And maybe they never heard of patching Steam to play its games so they just thought: "Let's install steam and theny use the extracted non-steam files to play the game! This way we can trick steam." ... you can call this (non-)Steam mixture.... a strange solution...

If their servers are not working for you, you should better try other ones and keep waiting till they chose the real non-steam way.

@ mansarde
Thx for uploading this release. It's always great to see members like you around ;), who still push the release.

Thx for the pat, I'm doing my best. I know how tedious it can be if there isn't always the hoster of one's desire or if the links get deleted on a specific hoster and then you don't have interchangeable alternatives.
So I'm glad to help where I can to bring this brilliant release to the masses!
It truly is the best release of HL2 & Co. I've ever seen, kudos!

"Yeah" to what exactly?
Yeah, it's truly the best release? Or yeah, you agree that it's nice to bring the release to the masses? Or yeah, you know how tedious it can be to [...see respective sentence in last post...]?

Well, whatever it might be, I just wanted to tell you all that I'm currently uploading part 64, which means there are only 7 parts left.
So I think it will be finished in the next 7-8 hours. Sorry again for the slow speed, but that's all what I got.

EDIT: Ok, I have to admit I forgot to continue the upload for about 2 hours.^^
But don't worry, there are only 2 files left to go. After that I'll check all the links and post them immediately here.
So if you've waited this long, you just have to settle for a little bit longer and your patience will be rewarded.

EDIT 2: Alright, finally I'm done with uploading. That's the good news.
But the bad news is: Unfortunately all the links for Uploaded.to are already gone!
I have no idea why, for the names give nothing away and without the proper password nobody could've taken a look into the files. Not to mention I haven't released the links until now.
Well, doesn't matter. Luckily the files were uploaded to multiple hosts, so take your pick.^^

Note:
This is the Installer Version 3.8
There are 71 files in total, their names are in this format: "83vbb2lh.part01.rar"

The links contain download links for these hosters:
Sharedzilla.com
Megaupload.com
FileFactory.com

I'm sorry I couldn't provide the promised uploaded.to links, but it really wasn't my fault. It seems Uploaded.to is suspicious about files it doesn't know anything about.^^
Ok then, enough talk, here they are, have fun! :8=)

Ok, normally I don't do double posts. But because else my edits won't be recognized as a new post and most of you might just be waiting for a NEW post to get the new links I've provided, I decided to bump this thread for all the people just watching the "New posts" status of this thread.
Normally when it's possible to delete one's last post I just do exactly that and then repost it again plus the new edits so the thread receives an updated status.
But because that's not possible here, I did this double post for all the people waiting for the mirror links and wondering what the hell is taking so long.

It's the first and last double post from me, promised.

I downloaded version 2.3 and updated the archives with the update 3.8 integration pack, step by step exactly as discribed. The installation itself was no problem, but when I launch one game (e.g. TF2), then the console shows me some suspicious messages. They look like errors. Did I made a mistake during the update integration? And what is FCVAR? Open the screenshot for further informations.

Ah yes, thank you very much for the release CR@CK-IT. I`d like to have cracker-skills... ;)

Even if you use the real steam version, you'll receive errors in console. And if you use steam, you wouldn't normally see the console (listing errors). These error aren't caused by the updates. Don't ask me why and who Valve included these errors.

The only thing you have to remember: If an error doesn't prevent you from playing the game, just ignore it!

I don`t run the original steam! I hate such stupid software and that is why I only use cracked steam-games.

Playing online itself works perfect. Maybe this "error" depends on the computerconfiguration. Anyway, thank you for your answer CR@CK-IT. ::D

the 71-file release contains a trojan called "killav" in the dedicatedserver.exe and episode-two.exe.

Let me guess... you use some free ware virus scan tool like antivir right?

I said it 100 times: These exe files are just batch files which got converted to exe files... maybe some cheap antivir software detects them as hijacking tools or what so ever... but they are just launching hl2.exe or srcds.exe with certain parameters!

I can absolutely guarantee that I've NOT included any viruses!
Do you know how long it took me to pack it, recognize making something wrong, pack it again, making upload tests to find the right upload site, etc. etc. until I was finally finished?
WAY too much hassle for me if I'd just wanted people to download a virus which, anyway, in 99% of all cases will be found by someone.
There are really MUCH easier ways to distribute viruses and this is too much of an awesome release to waste for something like a virus.

So seriously, as CR@CK-iT already pointed out, there's no virus in there.

Batch files converted to executables are likely to trigger such messages.
