Someone should make a little faq/tutorial or rather a comparison of all steam cracks/launchers. I mean, what are the advantages and disadvantages of each one ? For example, I am using undead patched steam, which is the minimal modified cracked steam solution. Why would I switch to p3ng3l's launcher or UCL for example ? |

That's right, you need to know how to choose. If someone wants to wirte a tutorial on that go ahead, but I really think if you release something here, you need to provide a feature list, screenshot, advantages etc (generally speaking). Developers should make their stuff attractive to people by themselves

ehm small bug? i using version 0.5 today launcher ask me about update to 0.5.1 so i click yes, but launcher download update and ask me again.... edit: ok there is only problem with exe name new updated launcher have name p3ng3l Steam LAUNCHER_update.exe (new version) but updator run p3ng3l Steam LAUNCHER.exe (old version) so i must manual change name... |

Hey, This prog is very interesting to me, but it won't run for me, everytime I try to run the prog it gives me the following error "Cant extract files. Maybe your OS is too old! 01X04" I'm running Vista x64. I'm also using the latest 0.5.1 version of this prog. Did I perhaps find another bug? EDIT - I figured out my problem, and now everything works fine, I may report back later on how this whole thing works, but so far it's great. You're awesome p3ng3l. |

ehm one question - why is launcher nonstop runing? i see if i turn off steam.exe launcher delete steam.cfg and turn off myself but why? he can simple? : - make steam.cfg - run steam.exe - delete steam.cfg (add small delay?) turn off myself.. and what about adding settis masterserver? warezz because it has to revert steam.dll after the shutdown of steam. Else you could also use cracked steam with undead patch. |

Else you could also use cracked steam with undead patch. no... it only demove steam.cfg, and when you run steam.exe without launcher steam get updated (download legit steam.dll) ...i use launcher becouse i have legit account & blanc and with p3ng3ls launcher i can use only one Steam... |

warezz The launcher creates steam.cfg and patches steam.dll with UDP. After closing steam the file gets reverted from a back up copy, so that if you launch steam normally don't have cracked steam. Of course you could also use your method - with reverting the changed dll at the update, but then you have to update (means in fact download) the dll (3.2MB+) every time you launch steam. I don't know how much memory it takes to be able to decide if this is an advantage or disadvantage. however some kind of config (to choose this for example) would be great. |

It's actually deleting the steam.cfg + reverting steam.dll after shutdown. Of course you could also delete steam.cfg shortly after steam launch, but why if the launcher stays in background? (And I know you could leave the DLL cracked, but look at my previous post )

You need the latest team fortress 2 client content.gcf (small file), then you can download the rest through steam. Check the thread with the gcf and the updates. |
