:D :) Thanks guys.

Unfortunately its not QVUP sexy... Its my Debian GNU/Linux Sid is sexy after i tuned is face up :) Every program i run(with QT face) uses the configured tuned face and look. If i change to default it will look "more typical". Windoz port will look like typical Windoz proggie.

Ive laready transeferred all VUP sources to my XFS partition and already built test vup's from it(all four binaries). As ive got MingW cross compilers on my Debian i can make both Linux binaries and Windows binaries within 5 seconds without VMWare/Wine or native Windows.

first post is a bit "incomplete" , i mean that , from what i know , only "ViTYAN's GameServers Universal Patch(VUP) v2.0 Beta 1" can patch linux engines , "Source Engine Patcher - REVOLUTiON" can also but with old release . No ?
[i think there soon will be a linux rev-emu]
my question is about steamid , does "ViTYAN's GameServers Universal Patch(VUP) v2.0 Beta 1" with linux engine give a steamid if client uses hcpua-emu or rev-emu or "ViTYAN's GameServers Universal Patch(VUP) v2.0 Beta 1" . answer for windows is welcome too ;]

Depends on engine type.

HL1 - You have REVEmu from shmelle for Linux and full support for SteamIDs.But know that old client will be dropped as WON emulation is not currently supported.

Source - One of available engine patches on linux(no steamids) and revemu on windows(support steamids).

Source 2007 - Even if emulator will be available(and thats not a case) SteamIDs currently not functional(but its a matter of time till REVEmu will have this function). Unfortunately currently only vup can patch Source 2007 for Linux engines.

vup is engine patch. In current state unique id's are not supported :(
For unique steam id's you need revemu :)

This patch supports Source engine(CSS) for both Win32 And Linux. Howewer latest build(Oct 2007) cannot be patched with this one.

Source 2007 was partially supported(Only Win32 servers) - i dont know if it still works on last engines(i think no because of newly added protections).

Vityan666 please allow me to ask you a few question involved with the working of you engine patcher (Valve.HL2.SOURCE.Engine.UNIVERSAL.PATCH.v1.98.20.POWER.EDITION.ANYCLIENT.ALLOS-ViTYAN)

First:

"gameserver.cpp (267) : Assertion Failed: Duplicate Steam Pending auth value found on insert"

This message is shown in console at the same time the server has a very big WARP momment, any idea why is happening this?

Second:

There are constant server crashes and a core.xxxx (xxxx is a number) is generated every time this happens. We recently upgraded the server with a E8400 so the working engine is i686, but before the change we were using an AMD one but this problems never happened before, any idea about this too? :)

I´ve uploaded a core.xxxx to rapidshare to show you and every one who want to take a look at this:

http://rapidshare.com/files/112339038/core.4503.html

Thanks a lot.

/EDIT:

I just tried your ViTYAN's GameServers Universal Patch(VUP) v2.0 Beta 1
I hope it works! Thanks for reading!

Valve.HL2.SOURCE.Engine.UNIVERSAL.PATCH.v1.98.20.POWER.EDITION.ANYCLIENT. ALLOS-ViTYAN is only for reference. Its quite old and still here only for HL1 engines. For newer engines try VUP or RevEmu.

[All]
VUP v2.0 Beta 2 has been silently released :)
Changes:

Advanced mode patching for TF2 engines now has new option to disable some small protection(disabled by default) which prevents extracted clients with Steam running in background to connect to server(client got dropped with "Client connection lost" error).
I wish to thank impulse666,Markizz and many other ppl at csmania for reporting this issue. The issue seems to be a client protection but ive got it solved temporarily on server-side...

In Enforeced-Type mode version detection routine is now called if Valve engine type has been enforced(As some protections are build dependable).

This version is first VUP which is fully made in Linux system(even win32/win64 binaries made with MingW CrossCompiler System).
Thanks to impulse666 for testing vupx86.exe on his native Win32.

Have fun :)

Quick question about this and sourcemod. If I enable the STEAM_ID_PENDING thing, how exactly is this dangerous in allowing cracked clients to join? I need it so my sourcemod admins can actually use the admin panel (it was previously saying they were all STEAM_666:88_666)

PENDING Ids are incompatible with some plugins and can cause even server crashes.

It would be nice if you'll test SourceMOD NonSteam Edition R2(bottom of the first page in this topic) and report back if any issues will arise(use with STEAM_666:88:666 IDs - i made is specially for this).

Before I do that, I just noticed that the patch alltogether is not working for me, I just saw this in my backlog:

L 05/04/2008 - 22:47:53: "********<11><STEAM_666:88_666><>" connected, address "**********:27005"
Client "********" connected (**********:27005).
L 05/04/2008 - 22:47:54: "**********<11><STEAM_0:0:**********><>" STEAM USERID validated
L 05/04/2008 - 22:47:55: "**********<11><STEAM_0:0:**********><>" disconnected (reason "This Steam account does not own this game. Please login to the correct Steam account")

I've got reports about it on csmania today. This appears only on new tf2-linux>=3461.
Anyway read below ;)

[All]
VUP v2.0 Beta 3 has been released.

Changelog:
FIXES(FUNCTIONALITY DROP/SECURITY ISSUE):
Fixed old mistype which was harmless for tf-linux < 3461but became a dangerous reason for possible vulnerabilities in server's engine as code/data may become damaged after patching. The other downside of this problem is unavailability of cracked Steam clients to connect to new servers cracked with VUP v2.0(1 <= Beta <= 2).

This bug has been fixed now. I recommend to any TF-Linux admin to redownload original engine libraries and repatch them with safe VUP 2.0 Beta 3.

Thanks to Speedy Gonsalez for testing VUP 2.0 Beta 3 during today's vulnerability bug hunting.
Special thanks to all csmania users who reported this issue for past 2 days and to Sazpaimon for reporting it here(Bad to know than only one man herenotices such a big and dangerous problem).

You dont need rev-patch.Its outdated and not developed anymore.
But you can consider trying out RevEmu(Check out respective thread).
