I am not sure if that works.. I try linux library, and when LAN SteamID legit admin ty to connect on full server via reservation slot, he doesnt connect (progress bar is little more done than original amxx library, but still kicked - full slots).

If internet SteamID legit admin try connect to empty server, server crash with modified amxx library :(

i hope soon there will not be need of modding and playing with amxmodx. For sourcemod already no need as all source players will have their id's soon... hl1 is much more problematic due to -nosteam clients...

:shock: umm? i dont get it. what's that suppose to mean? your patcher will not support -steam cs clients? if so then that might be really a bad news for me because i've been planning to get all players on my server to update their old cs clients to one that use -steam once steam connection lost problem is finally fixed.

You got my words in exact "reversion".
(hl.exe -steam -game "GT" ) clients are good and will get their unique IDs but those:
hl.exe -nosteam -nomaster -game "GT"
are big problem...
For now ive decided that those will get VALVE_ID_LAN OR be dropped from server with "Invalid CD Key" error... Ill provide 2 sets of engines for that :)

Thanks, vityan666 it works with the latest source 2 engine server (TF2).

But i think it sorta breaks the sourcemod snapshot builds. Sourcemod admin does not work after cracking engine.dll. Though metamod source, sourcemod and all its plugins still works. Admin works once i restore the original engine.dll. Any idea?

EDIT: am i forgetting a step or need to patch some other dll besides engine.dll?

Its a known problem.

You ha 2 possible solutions:
1)Use SourceMOD Non-Steam Edition

OR

2)Repatch your engine in in advanced mode: vup_arch -advanced bin\engine.dll and chooce "Yes" for the following question:
"Leave STEAM_ID_PENDING intact?(...)"

One little question (HL1):
If your emu will be support authenticate admins by SteamID (for slots), will be there an option to choose between assign fake SteamID to NS and leave them 666? (second option is quite usefull for identifiing users on leagues ;) )

You question is somehow "inpolite" or in other words "incorrect".
SteamID assigned by Valve AUTH Servers for legit players and NN get its "offline" without Valve connection. Youll be able to chooce ID by IP mode for Non-Steam and legit(in configuration - its already fully implemented from RC2 and current state is RC3). STEAM_666:88:666 is from PENDING "workaround" age and has nothing to do or to share with emulation.With emu everyone will work just like if he is legit player on official unpatched server. He will connect with STEAM_ID_PENDING and be authenticated with emulator later.All Sourcemod problems will be fixed automatically and official SourceMod will work out of the box flawlessly.
AmxmodX wil work like this too except old NS-WON client - thos cant be authenticated in any way.
I really dont understand why static-shared ID would be better? Its just usefull only there are no better solution and emulation is a far better one?
If you can give a good reason for such a way ill add special config parameter that will enable giving STEAM_0:0:XXXXXX to every NS and XXXXXX can be configurable too but in current stage i dont see any reason to add such useless functionality...

eSTEAMATiON reached RC4 and then Final State.

Lil internal changelog:

Final:
All changes and founding which ive got durin Linux devel was backported to Windows and thus ive redesigned my patched original Steam.dll to accomodate all new changes.

RC4:
Fixed handle leak of Non-Steam Users.
Fixed memory access problem which was located in unused function and was harmfull.
Added Valve logging(log file+console) support(via tier0 lib) instead of previous versions printf approach

RC3:
Added client type logging support
Added Linux support for HL1-based servers

RC2:
Added console-logging support(using stdc printf)
Removed the need to patch steamclient library during Linux development
Linux is now supported for Source/Source 2007.

RC1:
Base required functionality is now in. Windows libraries are now ready.

TODO for release process:
Make eSTEAMATiON ready engines pack for HL1.
Source and Source 2007 will be automatically prepared for integration by VUP v2.0 Beta 4 by special -esteamation-prep switch.
Create release NFO file
Create installation instruction files(noob frinedly) in English and Russian languages(and maybe German).

On every league is important identification.. On NS league is good option to identify legit players by their SteamID. There is their right. But NS players are recognize by 666, and must be tested and confirmed by admins, if they have static IP.

I am afraid, if everybody has SteamID, recognizing will be little messed up, becuase admins doesnt know, who has legit account and who has not.

This is primary reason, secondary is: "every time is good to know (for Cheathunters), who has legit steam account".

Thats all.. Will be great, if your steam emaulation has option like you wrote... :wink: It is on your hands..

Ill add it before final release ;)
Anyway you will able to recognize NS from Steam by turning appropriate option in config file(The emulator used by the client will be printed out to console and log if this option is turned on. For Steam clients nothing will be printed).

So, how do we wan't to organize server cracks then? Should we keep this thread or do you want to make a new one just for eSTEAMATiON?
I haven't followed development closely, is there anything important it cannot do, compared to existing cracks? If not, I think a new thread that replaces this one could be useful.
