I ran :
D:\VALVE\SteamApps\username\garrysmod\bin\vup.exe -advanced "D:\VALVE\SteamApps\username\garrysmod\bin\engine.dll"

and the engine.dll time changed to todays date so I'm guessing it worked right?

yes I cracked steam with the undead patch and I just tried to use the rev_emulator but without any luck, it gives errors when starting hl2.exe in my garrysmod folder like
"cannot find materials/consloe/background01_widescreen.vif"

validate your GCFs in CFToolbox and if there are outdated/<100%/not valid files, then upload archives for them.
and did you added
MinFootprintAutoRefresh=disable
to your steam.cfg?

He can't use the rev emulator if the game is not extracted. ;)

However I have just made an addon for SteamEmu, so you can actually use rev emu with GCFs etc. Uploading .... not tested though as I don't use SteamEmu.

If a future RevEmu version supports extracted content, will it totally replace SteamEmu ? Or are there any other features missing ?

Because hcupa is kinda inactive, whereas you keep on rocking ...

RevEmu will not replace SteamEmu. RevEmu addon will keep SteamEmu rocking, even if hCUPa doesn't find time to update it.

For all users of BAILOPAN plugs.
It's a known problem what his mods cannot authenticate legit players by their ID when engine patchers are used.
Ive contacted him 2 weeks ago and he sad this:
"We not support cracked/pirate software".

Im in turn will provide special VUP-compatible builds of sourcemod which will detect ID of legit clients correctly(and not STEAM_666:88:666 ID / STEAM_0:0:0 on rev's patcher).

May be ill modify amxmodx too but still unsure of what.

Can someone explain the following error and maybe provide some insight as to what it all means? I just patched my Ubuntu box with VUP and when I try to specify my server's public IP address I get the following:

Console initialized.
Game.dll loaded for "Team Fortress"
Particles: Missing 'particles/error.pcf'
Particles: Missing 'particles/impact_fx.pcf'
maxplayers set to 24
maxplayers set to 12
Unknown command "startupmenu"
WARNING: NNET_OpenSocket: bind: Cannot assign requested address
Couldn't allocate any server IP port
cat: hlds.6043.pid: No such file or directory
email debug.log to linux@valvesoftware.com
Wed Feb 13 16:04:13 EST 2008: Server restart in 10 seconds
Wed Feb 13 16:04:15 EST 2008: Server Quit

I am using this command to start the server:
./srcds_run -console -game tf +67.27.37.123 -27015 +maxplayers 24 +map ctf_2fort

You LOL-ing us again and again.

Quote:
+67.27.37.123 -27015

+ip 67.27.37.123 +port 27015

In worst case try without forcing IP address.
Set NAT on your router if needed.

[fightman]
Use one of patches in this thread.

What can I say? I'm full of LOL's :) I tried +ip 67.27.37.123 +port 27015 and got the exact same error message. If I don't force IP & Port then I can only connect to my server via LAN IP and not Interwebs :(
