It doesn't change your e-mail. It just patches the memory so you see his e-mail instead of yours. It's harmless and only a repack protection.

It's like undeadpatch, only that the file is patched in memory only. If you don't know what that means, google.

And, Shaman, of course, else our (blank) accounts would have been hacked (oh noes!)

Ok alright. Sounds pretty good. Works fine for me.

Another question : Would it be possible for a pc without internet connection to do the the following:

1.Install original steam
2.Copy the gfc files to steamapps directory
3.Start steam in offline mode
4.Launch games.

I think the fatal point is that you need to login.
And you simply CAN´t when you have no internet.

Ok many of you users would suggest several GFC readers (UCL,bblala). But in my opinion the games run smoothest on original steam. So is there a crack or sth to run exactly that steam engine offline? without loggin. I know it´s maybe nearly impossible but not every pc has internet ...

I Tried it with my brothers pc: I copied my whole steam folder to hims. the fatal was that steam couldnt find a user.
but i mean when i start games in offline mode it sees that i am already resgistered. So maybe it would be psobbile to export some registry files where this information is stored. I mean its DEFINITLY NOT stored in Steam folder.

Well I'll be damned.

Hm i am going really mad about this problem. The steam login information HAS to be stored somewhere. Q_Q

Im not sure, but i think in the Clientregistry.blob ... there it stores your PW when saving it

Ok that´s right. Now the Problem is when i try to start steam from a non internet pc: "unable to start steam engine: SteamStartEngine(0x12e868) failed with error 200: Failed to connect to any GeneralDirectorySeever, Winsocket 10065 No route to host"

This means that no server can be found to start steam with. But i mean in offline mode it even doesnt ask for server.

SO IS THERE A FIX OR A PATCH THAT MAKES YOU USE STEAM REAL OFFLINE?

the user login / pass is stored in a crypted way in the client registry.blob, it can de decrypted only the the computer where it was stored.

there's a way to work 100% offline : Virtual steam server :) but someone should make a nice client for it :) maybe it could be an option in SMD ;)

Great idea! Maybe this can be added as a plugin. (I don't know if this version still supports plugins.)

That's by far not true, UCL runs much smoother than original Steam does. And you shouldn't try to force Steam in offline mode, that sucks like hell (ok there is VirtualSteamServer, if you want that)

From those facts that it can only be decrypted on the same machine, isn't that cause the pw is encrypted with CryptoAPI?

i don't know, i just read it in previous threads and trusted that info :) but as far as i know it uses a machine dependant key to encrypt / decrypt the pass. i dont' know what encryption method and API is used (Crypro++ i think) . anyway it's better that way. passwords should remain secured :)

AFAIK you need to copy the MachineGUID, therefore I thought it could be the CryptoAPI. However, doesn't really matter

Alrite everyone, this is not changing ur email address at all. It will only "SHOW" another email to prevent kiddys to repack my stuff.

So dont worry its not touching anything else than the "text" of the E-Mail.

Edit:
Going to release soon a update with thirdparty support. Im a bit stuck so please be patient :p
