Seems really really great so far. Did a quick test by creating a server in synergy and it doesn't throw that lame error that the "account doesn't pwn this game" etc.
It pwns it just fine now ::D

I have some questions : Are any files patched on disk ? Steam files or minimum footprint files ? Why is the bootstrap... option needed ?


This is so fucking awesome, you've put a lot of work in this and it shows ! Well done !

Indeed. My fast test was also successful.

Nope. Everything is done completely in memory without file system modification :)

The option is not needed but if someone wanna use it then it is just "Available" as additional feature :) The default is "Disabled" ;)

Perhaps you can set Launch options in Steam for some Valve games and write -console there. Then create a file SteamApps\acc\gamename\modname\cfg\listenserver.cfg with those:
Source 2007:
sv_log_onefile 1
sv_logfile 1
sv_logbans 1
sv_logecho 1
log on

Source:
sv_log_onefile 1
sv_logfile 1
sv_logbans 1
sv_logecho 1
mp_logdetail 1
log on


And then start the game. Create a Listen server and hit "~" to open up the console. Then youll see your own distinct STEAM_ID and EST's configuration information+ Info about other joining clients or dropped clients(depends on your security policy configuration) :)

Now to another point. That can/should you expect for RC2:

1)Bug fixes inc ase youll find them :D
2)RC2 will be 99% dedicated to exeesive server-side Linux development.
3)New features for client-side which ill chooce from posts :) For now some user on csmania posted possibility to "replace" official master servers with Setti's ones. For me its a few lines of code in mVUP using OpenPtch API and new config+library "catch" code in eSTEAMATiON so ill probably add this nice feature to RC2 branch.

How do you mean by that? Directly from Steam (SeS)?
Atm the only way is doing it is by entering Steam\cfg dir and open the esteamation.cfg file and find SESFilterValveTestAppsOutOfAppsView, change it from True to False.

1) So I can get rid of the steam.cfg and the semisteam client will work fine ?

2) There should be an option for cracked servers in the cfg ! ;;)

TRUNK chages:
ForceListenServerToStartInInetMode didnt affected eST and this was always enabled. Now configration option works fine.

1) You can but ill not reccomend to do it. Steam will in 99% of cases try to update itself and cause startup problems.
2) Which option exactly? I didnt understood question's meaning :) Or do you mean using Setti's Masters instead of Valve's ones(ive mentioned already that ill implement this in RC2 in prev posts - already requested feature :) )

vityan666 Nice Work but I have a little problem I try to start SeS over RevEmu I copy all files in my cs source directory. I use GCFs and I want so start the game with that VLDR.exe -ldbinary hl2.exe -vldropts=b -steam -appid 240 -game cstrike -console !!

For me the game start and close!!

Can you try without -appid parameter?(Didnt tested NonSteam GCF's - Only extracted games)
And... Did you put eSTEAMATiON.dll in \bin subfolder?
vldropts=b instructs VLDR to load eSTEAMATiON.dll from bin subfolder instead of current folder.

Directory structure:

VLDR.exe
srcds.exe/hl2.exe
\root\bin
Steam.dll
steam_api.dll
steamclient.dll
eSTEAMATiON.dll

ive forgot to mention that in tutor :)
