Ill see that i can do about it especially that i myself interested in this feature ;)

I know about "something like crashes - minidump file creations". I can disable minidump creation completely to decrease possibility of Valve to send internal system data to their servers via Steam...

[fragtion]
Looked at source code without testing - confirmed. I was tired and put 4MB size check instead of 2MB :D :D -> FIXED in SVN

No replace or something like it. SeS is not just called SemiSteam - Its half Steam and half Non-Steam... "Steam validation rejected" reminds you about Non-Steam part of SeS ;) OFC you can set special option SESAuthenticateViaValvesServersAsTypicalSteam in cfg file to True and then SeS will act like typical Cracked Steam and youll get "This Steam account does not own this game" with hack accs and will be able to join with legit accs. If this option is False(default value) internal machine dependant eST AUTH system will be used and even if you use legit acc you will be dropped by legit servers with... "Steam validation rejected" :D

Now let get back ontopic. Currently im extending VUP with HL1 Classic Listen engines support. This will allow SeS(via mVUP engine) to make perfect listen Servers in Cs 1.6/TF1/CS:CZ and so on...

[Steaming_Noob]
Regarding your request of SeS version in About menu of Steam.
Its more like cosmetic tuning :) We(i and some trusted testers) used specially modded SteamUI resource txt files so it showed SemiSteam even in title and Logon Menu :) I think everyone is free to tune those files as he wants(for their language interface) :)
But this request have important point - Ive noticed that eSTEAMATiON doesnt print its version on servers. So thanks for the point even that you didnt mentioned it at all(just for a non-direct remind) :)
From next build eST will print its version and Date Time(For TRUNK builds Date/Time will be changed frequently :) )

Yeah, I guess the exact version is very important to show in server console/log also ::D

 You could also use the VERSION_INFO resource in your exe and dll for easier identification of the version.

I have more feature suggestions but I'll get back to you when I'm back from my trip. Happy coding !

I like how this app hooks into STEAM and allows you to have a semi-steam setup which is great, but the dedicated server bit doesnt seem to work. I followed the instructions on the front page to run a HldsUpdateTool version of TF2 SRC2007DS. It injected and launched fine, but then when I tried to connect to the server it said "Steam must be running". I had the same problem with the eSTEAMATiON engine patcher. How do I patch my TF2 SRCDS so that it allows non-steam clients using this tool?

Afaik the VLDR won't be updated that often, it's the eST.dll which will be patched more often.

That's a client-side problem. Your server is just fine then.

When using SteamEMU/Steambuster, I get that problem.
When using SeS Client I get Steam validation rejected. This is on a server that was invoked and is running with 'VLDR -ldbinary srcds.exe -vldropts=b -console -game tf +maxplayers 26 +map cp_dustbowl'
So it doesnt seem to have patched the server correctly?

fragtion, it is more advised to use Revemu/UCL, because it fixes the "Steam must be running" problem.

And about your dedicated server....
Here's how your dedicated server should look:
[ROOT] is the dedicated server's root dir.

[ROOT]
srcds.exe
vldr.exe
VupEngine_i686.dll

[ROOT]/BIN
eSTEAMATiON.dll
vlvticket.dll

Note that vlvticket.dll is THE SAME as steam.dll, so if you don't have vlvticket.dll, just make a copy for steam.dll and rename it to vlvticket.dll.

Will give this a try when I get home and then give feedback...
Just what I needed, thanks.

You need to VUP your server, srcds won't work with mVUP.

Done automatically now.
